He didn't go crazy. It was all bullshit.

He came to the conclusion that it didn't matter what he said or did, people just laughed. He went at it for 2 1/2 years, every episode an instant classic. The pressure was overwhelming. He was the most popular entertainer in America for 3 years. There was no one more talked about or revered. He went from being a stand up comedian living on his own schedule to having to come up with funny ideas on a deadline. It was too much for him and he just didn't want to do it anymore.

Yea, that's what I mean by going crazy

I don't mean literally losing his mind, I guess more a matter of losing his desire.

His limited run will go down in the history books, I just wish he could have held out a few more, threw around his weight, etc etc

You're right though.. We all wish the same thing. When someone asks who the funniest comedian of all time is, I normally say Dave Chapelle. I LOVE comedy. I have seen Chapelle in person along with Chris Rock, Carlin (before he passed

Killing em softly... is right up there with Eddie Murphy - Raw.

We should be thankful we got what we got. It was a period in my life where I laughed HARD every week.
