Hello:
Just got this mod done at Unlimited Performance too. Awesome 2 thumbs up!! Just perfect, it's not too loud. When you're on the throttle, shifting through the gears, it just sounds so much better than stock. More aggressive, throaty - hard to explain. Also got my ZHP shift knob and black kidney grills from Calgary BMW, installed both myself, very easy thanks to the forum DIY threads. The shift knob is great - more direct, heavier and shorter. Improves the driving experience. Wes |

Thanks to Prince of Persia for taking me for a quick drive in his M3 to hear the exhaust mod. It's exactly what I'm looking for, pretty quiet at idle (after warm up cycle is done), and just slightly louder at low rpms and has a great exhaust note. The aftermarket exhaust that my car came with when I imported it is just too loud for me, it's loud and agressive from start up, idle, mid range and wide open...it screams. Downtown Calgary it scares people when the throttle blips when I downshift.
I found a stock take off exhaust for sale and dropped it off at Unlimited Performance in Calgary today, chatted with the guys there, good bunch, no BS guys.

All stock exhaust in front of the diff....at least I think. I'll post some more pics of how it looks now later today.

Hard to tell from that pic?
But did you get the exhaust on? E92/3 are the same and muffler will bolt right up

Hey guys, just bought a new m3 from the dealer, picking it up on thursday. I want to do this mod asap. Will this affect my warranty in any way or does the dealer not really care?

I have the exhaust mod done on my M3. I'm removing it over the next few weeks to replace it with my supersprint setup. I'm in Edmonton. If anyone is interested, I'd accept offers on it.
I can probably have it delivered to you Calgary guys too. (picked up in the NW tho) |

hey guys, unlimited performance is suggesting wrapping it instead of a replacement with a straight pipe. I am assuming this is how yours is done. Do you think the pipe method is better? (less leak)
Would you spend an extra $100 do it the pipe method? I would love to hear someones car to see how it sounds. |

They're charging you an extra $100 to put 2 pieces of 5" pipe?
thats insane. I'd take it somewhere else. I cut mine up and brought it to a welder. He's charging me 1 hour (85) to put 2 pieces of pipe, weld them all up and then weld the muffler closed. Total cost? $85 |

I took mine off and cut it open for them.
I'll be posting a how to video this week. removing the exhaust takes 15 minutes. Re-installing also takes another 15 minutes. If you can remove the exhaust yourself and cut it open. ANY welder can do this. |
