Need advice
I have the subject.
Currently I am running stock tune, stock x pipe and innotech axle back. I am planning on deleting my primary cats and having a local shop build me a X-pipe with high flow cats and probably resonators. I know it will likely result in CEL and I am willing to do tune or get Delete R module. Here is where I need advice. My local guy has suggested adding a set of cut outs to my system BEFORE the high flow cats. More specifically a few feet off the headers. I know this would be very loud but my concerns are 1. Am I setting my self up for problems having the exhaust come out in that location ? It must be really hot. 2. How would a tune handle this scenario ? If the tune was designed for the x-pipe with cut outs closed what happens when I open the cut outs ? Seems to me the exhaust flow is radically different in these two situations. Should I suggest we put the cut outs down steam of the high flow cats ? I know there are other options out there but this is the one I am considering at the moment.
