Just bought a lexus

I have an 2003 e46 325i, but needed a larger car/SUV for my family. Bought a 2008 Lexus RX 350 FWD with options including NAV, Premium plus, heated seats, xenon, bluetooth/back-up camera, cargo mat. Never had a Lexus before. Anyone on this forum have a similar car? Any pros/cons? Also..I live in PA, will FWD be OK for the icy/snowy weather? Hope you all can see the pics.

I used to have a 300. Nice luxury. Kids could not wear out the window actuators no matter how much they played with them. Only needed to change oil/air filters and put gas in it. Brakes lasted 130,000 miles and so quiet and airy that you hardly feel the road at all.

This was really good deal for FWD. My other 2 cars: 325i and MB C230 are both RWD..I really haven't had any problems with snow when I equip the car with winter tires. I live in South Central PA...the snow really never accumulates that much.

Very nice. My next car will most likely be IS 2/350. Need to settle for an auto because of upcoming driving in back to back traffic.

My dad has one. 2007 Model. Only 1.25 year old. 105,000 kms already (65,243 miles)...mostly highway miles. Heh...we drive it a lot. Still running very strong. So I can give you a decent assessment...

So far only had one fan motor (for HVAC) start to squeak intermittently. Replaced under warranty. Changed OEM tires to Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza.

My complaints? Well it isn't really a sporty car...suspension is too soft for my taste. But it is relative smooth for a SUV...and WAY smoother than the BMW X3. Also, you will find that the seats are not particularly supportive in the sides (lack of adjustable thigh support also really sucks)...legs feel tired after a semi long day of driving. Gas pedal is positioned too much to the right. Also the center console stack is too wide and my knee ends up rubbing/resting on the left side of the center console stack. Bad ergonomics.

Other than that you...you will love it.

Thanks for all the replies...this car does NOT have standard Ipod or Satellite radio! What's up with that? Online sources indicate about $600 for parts and labor. I think that's a lot of money for stuff that should be standard.

Hah. Where have we heard that before?

"Stupid alarm should come standard on a $40k BMW. WTF?!?! "

It's a damn conspiracy to help the dealers make their money.

Congrats. The RX is a nice looking vehicle. A few things kept me from them. I am not a fan of the wood choices, and the lack of push button start, iPOD, sat radio, etc.

I am sure the remodeled version due out in a few years will catch things up.

I think they do look nice and drive well.

I have a old RX300 FWD here in hershey pa. not sure where in PA you are but here in central pa i use that as my winter driver...i have a set of snow wheels and tires and it works very well hope this helps! oh and my RX is a 1999 without traction control and all the gizmos out now so yours should be fine in the winter with a set of good snows.

Hey jetblk...I live in the Harrisburg/Hershey area. I PM'ed you a few days ago. Thanks for the advice on snow tires...everyone around here seems to have 4WD or AWD even though they don't need it
