Best Tire Shine
Hey everyone,
Obviously this should be in the other section, but we all know how hard it is to get questions answered in the detailing part. Just as the title says, I'm curious to see what other people are using for their tire shine. I've been using Meguiar's tire gel and love the look, when that stuff slings, it is a nightmare to get off the car. For a while I thought I was going through tar everyday. So just curious if a good tire gel that sines great and doesn't sling much even exists and what you guys use. Thanks!

It's all about the set up time. You've got to allow time for it to soak in. I've used Turtle Wax 2001 for many many years and it's been great for me. The formula has changed a couple of times but the result is still good. I try to avoid the gel products because it takes more sunlight and time to absorb. The biggest factor is to make sure the tire are clean. You've got to get that old grime off before the fresh coat goes on.............Phil

the chemical guys tire shine is great, it doesn't flip up on the side of the body panels like the other brands.

Tried many tire dressings and I personally like Black magic and maguair's brand. I also recommend a thorough cleaning to get the grime off, if you don't your tires will have a brownish look (dirt). I also prefer to use a painters brush to apply the tire shine instead of spraying it on, doing this you will have an even application, less waste and no overspray on your rims. I'm not a fan of the gel as it is too thick and attracts more dirt.

+3 to Chemical Guys. I am not a fan of hgh gloss shine, but like a deep black tire to match my rims. I have tried a few things out there and the CG stuff was over the top. Deep black, little bit of gloss, goes on easy, and is not greasy to the touch.

Thanks Mike ^
WHAT!! Support a vendor and try our tire shine, either Gloss if you prefer a shine or Satin if you prefer a matte look. -Martin Satin The first progressive finish tire gel, formulated to give a long lasting finishing whatever you chose, a natural sheen on 1st application, satin on 2nd coat and gloss on 3rd, giving you total control over the finish, we believe this could be a game changer. |
