Multiple security deposits are a lump sum of money left with BMW financial services that effectively lowers the money factor. This money is refundable from BMW at the termination of the lease.

The down payment is the multiple security deposits that I put down at the beginning of the lease. The $5250 in MSD is completely refundable at end of lease.

Hey any idea how payments work if non NYS resident assumes lease? Do you pay pre tax monthly payment with your state tax or NYS tax stays part of payment regardless? I see that you mention tax implications in your post so I am guessing its the latter but let me know. Thanks.

Unfortunately NY tax stays part of payment as it was not paid upfront. Depending on the state the car is going to be registered in you may be responsible for transfer tax as well.
