Track Day
Decided to bring the M3 for a work out at Barbagallo Race Track.
Format for the evening was 1 warm up lap, 3 hot, 1 cool down. This is my 2nd track day in FR layout. I usually compete in AWD Open Category. 1st Run - More of experimenting different gears for different corners, racing lines, corner entry speeds etc. Quite a few corners were taken in 2nd gear, which proved to be a handful as well as running out of revs at corner exit. [u2b][/u2b] 2nd Run - Decided 3rd gear is more ideal. Still trying to find a sweet spot for corner entry speed as the tyres performance deteriorate due to heat. [u2b][/u2b] For some perspective on lap times. All time fastest Lap Time: Evo IX MR - 53.3335 (Carbon fibre every panels you can find, stroked up engine, full stripped etc.) My lap time in Evo IX - 54.5545 (Bigger turbo, rear stripped out, roll cage). R35 GTR - 54.1875 (Bucket seats, front pipe) The M3 did 58.1307 (Stock) The track was slippery last night. Certain clipping points had been resurfaced in late December and are still greasy. Nobody were able to go anywhere near their personal best lap times. The regulars were at least a full 0.5sec off their PB. I reckon high 57s would not be hard to achieve. As this was my first time in the M3, I did not want to go flat out. There is still some hundredth of a second in various parts of the track I could shave on the next event. If money isn't an issue, about 1300kg, stock power, coilovers and a bit more downforce in the rear would be good fun. PS. Video is blurry due to Auto Focus trying to catch up in low light condition.

Would be better if it had some kind of aftermarket exhaust. It is really quiet in the cabin.

The entire car is stock.
I suggest not going for anything more than 4-5 flying laps depending on surface temps.
