Some sideways fun with the E92

this weekend i took my new m3 sideways for the first time :-)

car was still completely stock without any performance-mods (except small rear tires of course).

next up i'll throw in an os giken and a drexler lsd one after another. i expect them to improve the handling even more...

Very nice! Thanks for sharing!!! And that is why I need to find a way back to Germany. No helmet, no signing your life away, just get on the track and have fun. Can't do that here and with good reasons. Anyway, beautiful car control. Can't wait to see the video of you doing that going through Adenauer Forst!

well, unfortunately you have to sign your life away before drifting or racing here in germany as well!
and you can only go on the track like this if you are the organiser of this event ;-)

i have some videos going sideways through adenauer forst in my 325i racecar... but future surely will show us some m3 stuff there as well.
i am really curious how quick i will push the m3 around the nordschleife as driving my 325i doesnt feel that slow to me.

here is a hot lap at the ring... but no sideways here...

I thought the stock BMW LSD was pretty good.
Is the OS Giken much superior compared to it?
are you going with a 1.5 way or 2 way?

Cool video and awesome skills.

the stock unit is a gkn viscolok which is speedsensing (you need a spinning wheel to lock the lsd... slow, not perfectly predictable/direct).
the os giken is a torque sensing clutch type lsd which acts and reacts way quicker.
i will start with the standard ~1.7way os giken type-s setting and try it. if i am not happy i can switch the center unit to 2 way or flip some discs (in standard setting only five out of seven discpacks are "active").

after the os giken i will try a drexler unit and compare both. drexler is the unit of choice of most european motorsports teams.
