Hey everyone my name is Tony, I'm new to the forum and to the BMW world and so far I love it! Although I don't own a BMW yet I still find them a beauty to look at. Currently I'm in the market for an AW 2008-09 M3 coupe, hopefully I'll have one very soon! If you guys have any words of advice before I purchase one I would appreciate it.

Well I'm glad to be a part of this forum!

only advice is if you can afford, don't buy a used M3 go an a bare bones new one price is very close especially if you compare with a loaded '09

Get a new one. In this economy , Used car prices are higher.

Be the first driver, enjoy it from 0 miles, break it in yourself.

Don't buy anyone else's problems (potentially).

+100 ... remember our cars are build for speed and the Autobahn ... speeds you never will drive unless you track the car. Get a dealer certified car with low milage and you be all set. Just make sure the car has never ever seen a track.

and the old ones won't deprec?

the drop on the Bimmers is usually linear.

a bimmer (used or not) will generally depreciate about 10K a year.

and IMO with all the respect to the owners but to me...paying 50-55K ?! for a USED bimmer???
is completely insane.
especially on a precision instrument such as M3.
if it was mereceds or lexus it would be a different story.
