Cold Start effect when engine is warm...?
We all know that the cold start period is there on these cars and how they buck/pulse during this period. But I'm having the same effect even with a completely warmed up engine. For example: fully warmed up car, shut it off, run in to the bank for 5 minutes, come back out to start the car, and it does the same thing again where it dumps fuel like a cold start for a period of time again. During that period, (even when warm) the car is difficult to drive smoothly, and it's quite annoying. Is this part of coding out the cold start feature? Or is there something separately controlling this when the engine is warm? I am 6MT, FWIW.

Mine runs smoothly in those situations.
Do you get any codes thrown?

If you are running catless without a tune this will happen.
If you have a tune, they did not delete the cold start.

Stock exhaust. (For now) Primaries cats are still in place. The tune is also factory as well, as far as I know. Previous owner never mentioned anything about it.

Interesting. I know the cold start will kick in when the car has been sitting running for a while. Just an emissions gimmick.

Sounds like similar behavour here. The cat seems to cool off fast enough to gave the cold start initiated, at least partly, after a only a short stop. Nothing that worry me.

Thanks for the reply. The only thing I could think of is like you said, is that the cats cool off THAT quickly. It doesn't worry me, as I know it's normal behavior... It's just annoying as all hell to have to let the car cycle through the BS again for 60 seconds or so, so that car can double check it's not going to piss in the EPA's wheaties.

So will tuning out the cold start function get rid of the warm start issue as well as the sitting and idling issues you mentioned above?

OP probably meant sitting in traffic with auto stop feature on. Mine does that, if I sit in the traffic for a bit like waiting for train, auto stop shuts engine off, when it starts back up the cold start will be on. Sounds glorious with my exhaust! People around me probably not so much

Correct. It's almost as if it is kicking the fans on, and that triggers it for some reason that is unknown to me... More and more I'm wanting to code this out. But I like it, because it sounds rad for a bit in the mornings... It's like a cup of coffee for your ear holes. And It helps with initial engine warm-up in the mornings as well.
