I have the P2198 code pulled out on my OBDII Scanner.

I am also running an X Pipe with dual Cat Deletes and I and also getting an P0030 error for both 02 Sensor not heating up?

The car has a tune and the check engine light was disabled, similar to an Akrapovic device that you hook up on the OBDII.

Symptoms:

1. Rough Idle during startup. ( The rev is not bouncing up and down, you can feel a slight vibration inside the car) It goes away after you reset it and warm it up for 2 min and it smooths out and the car drives like normal again.

2. The car is hesitating during normal driving conditons. ( If you reset it with an OBD2 it will go away, it will only come back when you start up the car again.)

Once I reset the codes and wait for the car to warm up properly the condtion goes away.

It will only come back when you re-start the car again.

I searched and found some more information about the code below.

The P2198 is for lack of O2 sensor switching, indicating rich.

The fuel system is trying to adjust to an overly lean condition & has maxed out on the rich side.

So look for vacuum leaks maybe look to the PCV valve & it's rubber connections.

Vapor recovery vacuum line to the intake manafold back to the vapor canister.

Low fuel pressure.

Intake manafold vacuum leak.

Any solutions on where the leak might be coming from? Maybe from the Intake?

Thanks.

Could still be almost anything. I got that code also recently... it was for precat O2 sensors. Good luck.

Did you manage to fix the problem?

Same symptoms?

1. Rough Idle during startup.
2. The car is hesitating during normal driving conditons.

Thanks.

I don't think its the idle valve becasue the idle is not erratic.

Who did the tune? How long after the tune did the problem start? Can you flash back to stock to see if that resolves it or do you not have a flash tune?

Did you change the intake? The nipple is still attached to the elbow right?

Has the intake manifold ever been off? Make sure that is secure...

Mike Benvo tuned the car when he was is still working with Powerchip.

He turned off the check engine light for having no cats, but I am still getting a
P0030 code for both cats and the P2198 which is probably a small vaccuum leak.

It only happened when I downshifted from 2nd to 1st it went to about 5.5k to 6k. DCT Transmision. Maybe some hose popped off but I do not know where to look.

I have the MS Stage 2 Intake and the nipple is still attached to the elbow.

I will open up the intake cover today to see that the intake cone is securely connected to the intake elbow. Worst come to worst I will put back the stock intake.

The intake manifodl has never been off, do you know which hose on the Intake Manifold to look for?

Thanks man.

Problem fixed.

It is not caused by the tune.

It turns out the Intake Elbow was loose and causing a vacuum leak triggering the code.

Mike Benvo helped me trouble shoot the problem.

Thanks Mike.

Glad it's sorted out. It's actually a good sign that it threw that code, means the ECU is working properly

Bring the car by whenever you have a chance and I'll upgrade you to the BPMSport tune. You'll like that a lot better
