Woot, the Senators finally look like an NHL team!

We beat Buffalo 5-2 last night, and they only scored because they got us to a 5-3 for 2 minutes and one of our guy's lost a stick so it was more like 5-2 lol

San Jose trounces the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1.
Sharks are still leading the Western Conference. Now 8-2.
They are now ranked #2 in the NHL just behind the New York Rangers.
Next game tomorrow versus the Red Wings!! 7:30

I was at that game. Sharks did a great job on forechecking. Crosby was visibly pissed by half way through the 2nd.

[rant]I friggin hate it when the Sharks play a team like the Pens, Wings, Flyers, Hawks, Rangers, etc. The Sharks tank has way too many d-bags wearing opponent's jerseys. If you just flew in to watch the game or just moved to the area, I will give you a pass...feel free to cheer for your team. But if you call a city your home then you gd better cheer for the home team. If you liked your Wings or Flyers so much then you never should have moved away from Detroit or Philly.[/rant]

Oh I know! Due to work related issues I missed lasts nights and tonights game. I always make it out to Red Wing games and most of Pittsburgh. But, it seems that everytime the Red Wings come half the DAM fans are wearing RED WING jersey's. It's not like their the f#cking New York Yankees./end rant

Come on guys. It even happens in Vancouver where we've had a team since 1970. When it comes to older teams, especially the original 6, you will get a lot of people wearing their jerseys.

I was at last night's snooze fest Bruins-Canucks game and there were plenty of Bruins jerseys in the crowd.

Stars fan here, working a few blocks from the Honda Center. Going to go see the Ducks/Stars next Friday.

It's about time you Sharks fans got your money's worth, you've had some serious talent up there for years, good to see it finally coming together. Hopefully we'll see you in the post season.

I was at the last two Sharks games. They played the Pens and Wings - two very good teams. The Sharks forechecking has really stepped up. It is very hard to say how far they will go in the playoffs as other teams start clicking and injuries set in, but the Sharks are off to a great start.

Congrats to rookie Jamie McGinn. He had two points including his first NHL goal. He also took first star of the game. Nice.

I was at those as well, and I will be at Minnesota and Dallas next week too. Yeah, good forechecking, good defense, nice to see everyone, even Douglas Murray, join the rush, take some shots and crash the net. And on the defensive end its good not to see Wilson's practice of not going to the ice to block pucks. Not doing that last year drove me crazy. Good to see McGinn get a goal and an assist.

You forgot to mention Mike Grier. He is really stepping his game up this year whereas the last 2 years I didn't see much from him. I couldn't be more proud of the guy. Hope all turns out good!

Mike Grier has been a leader on the ice and a superb penalty killer over the last two years. He and Torrey Mitchell were the reason we had the #1 penalty kill last year.

Sharks look very dangerous. Maybe getting rid of Wilson has helped the team relax.

Its not that they are relaxing. They are shooting the puck from everywhere and crashing the net. And when they crash the net, they stay in front of the net, they dont fly right by it. The defense is getting involved in the offense, and the forwards are expecting that to happen, so they know they need to be defensively aware unlike last year when Wilson only let the forwards jump up in the play, so when a defender would join the rush, no forward would get back and it would usually lead to an odd man rush for the other team. They are also now allowed to get down on the ice and block shots and are doing a much better job of screening the goalie and moving the puck. Its about the system.
