Out of curiosity, who and what determines how many cars each dealership is allowed to order? Is it based on previous sales, area or what?

I see, makes sense.

after orders are entered into the system, are PCD pick up dates set when production numbers are issued from dealers, or are they set after production?

My dealer told me he can register customers for PCD as soon as the dealership gets the production number.

I have a few questions re allocation and appreciate any help.
How far out do dealers get allocations? Is it for the whole production year or just a couple of months ahead?
For US delivery, can we reserve a production slot in a particular month, say June 2013?
For ED, I know ED does not use US dealer allocations, but can we ask for an ED production slot around June 2013?
Is it too early to discuss June 2013? I'm still investigating ED or not, but would like to know both routes in case ED does not work out.

From previous ordering experiences involving different dealerships, the dealer informed me of production numbers once it was informed by BMW that the ordered was accepted and the production week was set. The amount of time that elapses between "order accepted" and "production week set" can vary considerably. Back in 2005, the production number was forwarded to me within a week. More recently, the order accepted and assignment of a production week separated by almost two months. At least part, if not all, of the lengthy delay in the more recent ordering instance was due to BMW rescheduling production runs of certain models at Regensburg. Once your order is accepted, lean back a sip on a tall glass of Patience because all is going to be fine in the end.

Does anybody know what they lease numbers (MF and Residual) are for this month on 2013s? Is there a difference for ED leases? Thanks in advance.
