E90 m3 or F10 M5

I picked up my car 2011 e90 m3 from regular service today. Car has been running great without any issue, service was a tire change to PSS at the dealership which matched tire rack price!

Passed by the showroom floor and noticed a magnificent M5 on the floor. I think it was a montecarlo blue with a grey nappa. The car is simply stunning...The sales folks know me well as I bought all my cars from them over the past 10 years. My sales rep jumped in and offered me test drive but I refused to drive it before I get an estimate on my car.

I looked at the numbers and they seemed fine but I didn't want to pull the trigger before I rationalize my decision.

My question is simple: without any money considerations, would you trade your e90 m3 for an f10 m5 knowing that you want performance first then luxury in second place?

You Should have test driven the F10 ///M5. That's the only way to get some real ground truth.

I would buy the M5 outright and have both in the garage.

M5 F10 > E90 M3
If it was the e92, I would wait for the new one, the M5 f10 is the best if you need the 4 doors, and go crazy with the options, some new gadgets are pretty cool, but only you will know, so go for the test drive

You need to drive the F10 first. See if it grabs you. You'll know once you drive it.

Great pics, looks great (le mans?)

Look forward to hearing your impressions after a drive. Stunning car and 550+bhp and 500lb/ft I think you may go through with this

I'm actually REALLY curious to see how reliable this new twin turbo motor is.

But, obviously the car is fast, sexy, and new. Too bad it won't sound as good as that V10.

The M5 is a sexy beast..

If you have the means, I would definitely get one.

It is about personal preference tho.

definitely test drive it first

the e60 m5 was my dream car for many years until I finally drove one. it's a great car but maybe in another 10 years for me, YMMV of course.

the new m5 is so damn quick and good looking i classified it as one of the cars that i should never test drive until i am ready to purchase on the spot

What car would you use on the track? I would keep your M3, also, don't you already have a 5 series in the family?

I must be in the minority thinking that the M5 isn't all that great looking.

I think it looks pretty dull and bland myself too.

E90 M3 is a sharp car with a quick responding, naturally aspirated V8.

Depends what you're looking for. If you need a fast family car, get the M5. If you want a great handling and responsive car with some degree of practicality, keep the M3.

I am with TECH here. The front doesn't look aggressive for me. Love the front of the ///6 though

Money aside, I am an M3 man all the way, just not a big fan of big sedans. But it is a fantastic car if it floats your boat!

Visually, the M5 does absolutely nothing for me. It's very understated and too sedate in comparison to the potential of the powerplant.

I'd only get an M5 if it were manual. Then again, I'd only get any sports car if it's a manual.

I work there and am the one who brought that beast into the showroom. Who's your sales rep? Roxanne?
