Motor noise in rear drivers side wheel well??
As the title says, after driving the car hard and shutting her down, I hear a motor-type, whirling noise that seems to be coming from the rear drivers side wheel well. It's not loud by any means, but when I park in my garage, it's definitely audible. Anyone have a clue what it might be?? Exhaust or brake cooling mechanism??

Yea I hear that too... I figure its something just tuning down for rest. If it is the fuel pump, maybe to relieve pressure?

The rotors ping and clank as they cool..if the key is close by it could be the fuel pump clicking on..also engine makes some noise from the metal contracting while cooling..this car makes all sorts of noises when you turn it off..all normal

It's a vacuum pump thats used to maintain proper vacuum levels, mainly for brake assist. Pump your brake pedal and you'll hear it kick on. Engine running of course. It's there in case you're at wide open throttle for too long and the brake assist may not be sufficient when you need it.
