Just ordered my M3!

Hello all,

I'm a new member to the forum and just ordered my new 2009 M3 Coupe this past Monday...3/23/09. After fighting over colors I finally pulled the trigger. This is my first Bimmer and I'm stoked! I've been reading a lot of threads lately and I wanted to thank the forum for all the helpful info.

Any more tips for a new M3 owner with a lot of time before getting behind the wheel? I've memorized the BMW M3 site and am finishing up the manual now. I'm constantly online looking up future mods too.

Appreciate the help. Looking forward any meets in Southern California as well. Thanks.

may i ask how much you got 09 for? any deals other than low 2.9% financing on 09 m3s?

Ended up around 66k....down from the 70k MSRP. And no...no deals lower than 2.9% financing on the 09s. Web says the 2.9% is really only for the month of March too. Probably could have held out longer and got more off, but my impatience got to me.

Damn, you paid 66k? i thought dealers were selling 500-1000 above invoice. Adding those features i would've thought you'd be around the lo 60s range.

From what I've been researching, 09s are actually going for a lot higher, only a few k off from MSRP.

nonsns3 - Can't wait to tint it. Probably will be done the day after I get it. I was stuck between Alpine White or the Jet Black too. Black on black turned out to be the winner.

LeloWM3 - Skim is right...actually with those options invoice was over 64k. So I'm paying over 1000k invoice...which I read is a little over average of what people are getting. Again...probably should have held out. That's what I get for living in the OC....everythings a little more pricey out here.

Hey, I'm from SoCal too and I'm about to order one before the sale tax goes up 1%. I wanted to wait for the .9% APR deal to come back again but I can't wait anymore.

BTW, how long is your wait for the delivery?

Unfortunately we are going to get stuck with that 1% increase on sale tax next month. No way around that with an order since you only put a deposit down then pay the full amount when the car arrives.

Estimate from the dealership is 10 wks....ouch! 3 days down so far.

Welcome. Congrats. The wait will be brutal, I assure you. I've been waiting since Dec.29. Don't worry about the price, you got a fair deal. The guy above talking lower 60's is clueless. Make sure in the next few days to read up thoroughly on the options you chose, while there is still time to change them. In particular, inquire about the black on black, specifically the black leather, as some have stated that it does very little for the already dark interior. I'm not intending to be critical, everyone has their own taste, just trying to inform you with thousands of reviews already digested.

Thanks. That makes me feel better. Good advice too with the options. Smartphone integration was one I questioned. Trust me I really like the Alpine White too. And I like the Bamboo Beige interior as well. I have never seen a jetblack/bamboo combo in person though. I did see pics and they look pretty sweet.

Well as I said on other posts I paid $3,000 over invoice and couldn't get anything better than that. So I think it's a fair price.

Yeah, there definitely aren't that many M3s around. I ended up getting Alpine White just because the last two cars I owned, including my 335, were black. Black would otherwise be my first choice. But yeah, congrats on your car, hope to see it in the future in and around Irvine.
