'11 e92 Dyno

There was a local car show today, so I decided to check it out along with their mobile dyno. They had two awards for Most Power Forced Induction and Most Power Naturally Aspirated. I was the last car to dyno since I showed up last minute and beat out their top car (Camaro at 344 WHP).

They only did 3 pulls and on the 3rd pull I got 382.4 WHP and 292.4 ft-lbs. It didn't peak yet either. It was around 90 deg F today and we're at sea level. Mod list in sig and vid below.

Wish I was able to stay till the very end to get this trophy though haha.

Signature says ESS tune and Akra Evolution. A stock M3 won't make 380 rwhp, but one with a catless midpipe and a tune should be close.

Maybe a software update? Could that make a difference even if we're running a tune?

Ah, forgot what dyno it was. I'll have to look at the prinout later. But at the time, it was actually the stock air filter because I just recently cleaned the K&N one.

It was done in 4th even though I told them I'll probably hit the speed limiter. I'll get another dyno properly done sometime soon.

You wont hit the speed limiter in 4th.

And with the tune you should have no more limiter anyway!

I saw a stock car (other than midpipe) dyno at 380 yesterday at the South Bay BMW Dyno meet. Convertable too, I was surprised.

Huge variation between stock cars and dynos. Seen them dyno as low as 310ish. Could be weak car + low reading dyno. Or the high numbers are strong car and high reading dyno. Removing variables from the equation makes it easier. But there sure is a lack of consistency.

My last dyno at EAS was about ~380 whp (w/ stock redline), but that was over 6 months ago and on an older tune revision. On yesterdays dyno probably would have been 400+.

Can you post the dyno by chance?

i wanted to dyno yesterday also but they ran out of time plus i arrived late and didn't want to bump anyone for no reason. Everyone wanted me to dyno and i was getting anxious knowing that NO ONE broke 500whp yesterday.

oh well... there's always next event i guess.

OP... those seem like good numbers. congrats

Like Mike mentioned the variation between dyno's is huge! Its pretty pointless to compare unless you have a baseline on the same day same dyno.

Stock m3's on our dyno avg about 325 Whp.

For the tune, I decided to keep the rev limiter and speed limiter at stock settings until later.

I can't find the sheet at the moment to take another picture of the dyno sheet, but here's what I have so far.

iirc, the line stops at about 8100 RPM.
