so i was either thinking gloss matte or chrome(the m3 edition ones) for both the kidney and side grills but not sure which would look best in red

I hear ya, I think the gloss black looks better than the matte black; matte black looks unfinished, IMHO

On the real, from many angles they just look like the standard chrome ones to me but just a little bit dirty. I think the gloss black will 'pop' more and will match all the gloss black window trim and mirror bases. If you do the side markers in gloss black as well it will really tie it all together. That was my plan until I decided to do something different and went full color matched.

I have them and really like them. I get compliments on them all the time.
I think gloss black grills and gloss black side gills with lightly tinted lenses would look tits on MR.

go with black chrome black or gloss black
dont do painted... the car is too red to have more red on it. it needs more black/red to make it look aggressive or mean

If you go Editions you will be a bit more unique, but you will pay more.
If you get gloss black you will spend less... You could use that extra bit of cash on a drop in filter or something similar.

I hear ya on the money factor, I was just giving options
I think it is all personal opinion. I love my color matched stuff; some people don't. I dislike matte black grills/gills; most people love them. I think the Edition stuff is cool and a nice subtle mod, but I don't see the continuity with the other accent parts of the car. Hence, I would go gloss black to match everything else. And replace the ///M3 badge on the back with a gloss back one to seal the deal.

In that 1st pic Rapture, your whip pulls off the color matched grills real well. I can't really judge the other ones, color contrast is off and it's a lower quality pic, but you're right man, to each his own.
I'm leaning more towards the gloss dank, that's probably the direction I'd go based off Nick's picture. |
