Maybe you guys would have been better off continuing to sell the billet tranny flange shaft ends and getting a supply of the shafts to mark up and sell, rather than spending a bunch of money on legal fees and losing market share and market opportunity.

As a lawyer, I have seen how expensive principles can be. I never advise anyone paying legal fees to proceed based on principle. In fact, I often tell people to put aside their principles in order to avoid litigation or to reach a compromise in litigation. It is a business decision not a morals question for philosophers. Objectively, what is best for business, not subjectively, how does the owner feel.
