License Plate Holder

Pretty simple question:

Shouldn't the dealership pay me for advertising their name by ways of a License Plate Holder?

Ever since delivery (a little under a year ago), I still haven't taken off the standard issue - dealership license plate holder. So essentially, for a little less than a year, I have been advertising the dealership on the back of my beemer. Shouldn't I get paid for this?

I realize this question is rather odd and it is probably the Jewish in me that came up with it, however I don't see why I shouldn't be compensated for it...

Thoughts?

You can take it off. I've got a hunch you get better service if you leave it on though. I've seen dealers change the frame when they service your car before to one of theirs. (Though that wasn't a BMW or BMW dealership)

I can't believe this is the first time you've noticed this.

I took a friend to a local independent mechanic to have her car serviced. When she got her car back, she noticed a $16 charge. That charge was for the dealer installed license frame! We had quite an argument with them and they were admament about keeping it on the bill.

If you don't think you're paying for it, you are some how....

Its not the first time I've noticed it, but it is the first time I wrote about it. Unlike many people on this forum, I do not write about everything thats going through my head...

Send them a bill, they might be stupid enough to pay you.

I took my rear frame off because I don't like holders. But I left the front on.

Better that than the dealer putting a sticker with their name on their car. My dealer doesn't do that, mind you. I have offered dealers in the past that did that to either pay me for advertising or to take if off the car. Which do you think they chose?

+10! I hate those sticker things. They look so tacky.

I haven't used plate holders since high school (over 10yrs ago). Maybe it's just me, but I always prefer not to use holders for my plates. Just seems to look cleaner.

BMW SF used to do this. I see their "ad" all over the bay area on bmw's bought there. I would never buy a car from a dealer who forces you to advertise for them.

Does BMW SF still do this?
