Question is it still worth modding when the newer cars are out?

Hey folks,

F30 is already a year ahead of E90. I test drove a 335i and it is no M3. When will the coupe hit the market? How about the new M3/M4? A year and a half wait? If that is the case, I am thinking to pick up a set of good coil overs as I find my E90 dated and not very good looking. I know lowering it would help a bit. I am thinking to get KW V3. I have stock 19" with PSS. If I just lower the car I probably needs to have spacers to make it look beefy. I also have a set of 18" Rays TE37 SL 18x9.5 18x10.5. I don't think I can find tires that would fit perfect and be as quiet as PSS.

Thanks!

Maybe the E90 looks dated, my E92 still turns heads.

The new turbo M3 looks boring and dated already.

Come on.......the only reason the E90 Looks dated to you is because you have one. Don't sell it short.

If u don't like the e90 don't waste your money and get something that u enjoy looking at on everyday basis. Lowering your car won't help.

if you find your car dated and not good looking, then no, don't mod it!

if you feel like there's no other car on the market that would be better for you and you just want a little more from it then yes, put a better sounding exhaust, a supercharger, some springs and some nice wheels!

The better question OP should ask is

"Why am I posting this in the tech topics sub-forum?"

I agree with you. The e90/e92 models are starting to turn the corner to looking a bit aged but I freaking love the way my car looks and drives. The only car that I would want is a 997.1/997.2 GT3 (short term) and a 991 Turbo but I don't feel like spending that much on a small car yet. I think the only way that putting on another mod works to keep the spark alive is only if you actually do enjoy your car.. If you don't like it in the first place, it won't do anything for you.

Once the new one comes out, these cars will get cheap and people will get adventurous. That's when the most exciting modding will happen IMO.

I disagree that the E90 looks aged. I think it still fits in fine with modern cars.

The e46 to e90 jump - yes that was major and the e46 clearly looks dated compared to the e90. But the e90 to f30? Looks more like a makeover than a completely new car.
