The 1M on the other hand has more cooling cores than 2 M3's combined and there are 0 reports of overheating/limp mode during high performance track sessions.
Who cares if it has 10 extra oil coolers than the m3, with FI you need them and NA you do not need nearly as much as you do not produce nearly the heat. But thanks for playing. Limp limp limp the 1m said on his way home (while still smelling like piss)

Did I mention it looks like a total chicks car!
Based on the way you manifest yourself on these forums alone, I can tell you're a complete idiot, but then again it wouldn't be an M3 forum without a few people like you

There has yet to be a 1M to hit limp mode due to overheating.

Chick car? Lol dude you can make 4 fender flares for your car out of one single fender from mine as far as the muscular look goes. I know I know...fanboy status does not let you see past your M3...it's ok, I forgive your ignorance.

Agree. The turbos produce really heavy amounts of heat. That's why I think there would be problems as well. But that's usual.

Don't agree with that. It's still a car from M GmbH. That would be more than embarrassing for them.
No worries man, apparently Ateam has based his masculinity on the M3 being NA...it's only a matter of months before he becomes emasculated

Actually I think the m3 is a bit feminin too but m5 was not out when I needed a car. I love the m3, great performer but it does have a bit of a boy racer or feminin flavor to it. I do not really care about others opinions so does not overly bother me but a man drives an m5 IMO unless its for the track purely which most people's are not.

However the 1m is so girly that I cannot stoop that far down.

Also m3 is a great bmw but I am no fanboy-lots of better cars out there IMO, although i always wanted an m3 so it was something I wanted to experience once.

It can be very fast with about 7k in mods, close to 500 whp. But i know in 2 yrs 2M is coming out with the same spec and if not better than the 1M of current. I feel like its a downgrade if i switch to a 1M.
Guys i would really appreciate some advice, and i dont know what to do. I love my M3 and it handles awesome, but the 1m is also nice, but 10k over the sticker i dont know? plus its a newer car. What i hate about the E92 m3 very little torque.
I just moved from a modified Z4MC to an 09 M3 and I had a chance to get a 1M before I got the Z4MC and I will tell you the 1M is not something I would ever consider after test driving and being in one, thus I went with a (better to me) 08 Z4MC and now 09 E92 M3.

This is easy, get the M3 and don't look back. I still would take an 08 Z4MC all day long over a 1 series coupe.

I just saw the Top Gear review on the 1M. The 1M is the only car I can remember seeing go through Hammerhead and approach the follow throug sideways...but it did beat the M3's lap time.

Not that I'm regretting my decision but the 1M does have impressive performance from what I've seen.

The 1M may be one heck of a car, but im not a track star. For a DD I'll pick a M3 over one of those any day

1M because it combines a great tuner engine with a great chassis and suspension.

The only thing that sucks about the 1M is how it looks

BMW should've made a 3M

I just read this whole post. Both sides make pretty good arguments.

I have both cars. Will the 1M be worth anything more than MSRP in 1 year? NO. In 3-4 years it will be a memory. Will it ever be less than say 30-35k? Probably not. Plain and simple. The fact is that BMW will come out with newer quicker, more fun or as fun cars.

It will be a collectible for bimmer heads only, and that demographic is not as large as you think. Being a bimmer head, I will probably never sell it, unless for another "special edition" BMW.

The car is great, it's probably the easiest 6 speed I've ever driven, but for me its the exclusivity that makes it special. If this car was as easy to acquire as the M3, I don't believe this debate would even be happening.
As a weekend car I'd say go with the 1M, it's still very practical for daily use as well. For more comfort, more of a GT feel with a livelier motor and aural pleasure I'd say go with the M3.

AND...If you really want to acquire a 1M...It's still possible. You'll pay a bit more, but that's life.
