There has yet to be a 1M to hit limp mode due to overheating. Chick car? Lol dude you can make 4 fender flares for your car out of one single fender from mine as far as the muscular look goes. I know I know...fanboy status does not let you see past your M3...it's ok, I forgive your ignorance. |

However the 1m is so girly that I cannot stoop that far down. Also m3 is a great bmw but I am no fanboy-lots of better cars out there IMO, although i always wanted an m3 so it was something I wanted to experience once. |

This is easy, get the M3 and don't look back. I still would take an 08 Z4MC all day long over a 1 series coupe. |

I just saw the Top Gear review on the 1M. The 1M is the only car I can remember seeing go through Hammerhead and approach the follow throug sideways...but it did beat the M3's lap time.
Not that I'm regretting my decision but the 1M does have impressive performance from what I've seen.

The 1M may be one heck of a car, but im not a track star. For a DD I'll pick a M3 over one of those any day

1M because it combines a great tuner engine with a great chassis and suspension.
The only thing that sucks about the 1M is how it looks BMW should've made a 3M |

I just read this whole post. Both sides make pretty good arguments.
I have both cars. Will the 1M be worth anything more than MSRP in 1 year? NO. In 3-4 years it will be a memory. Will it ever be less than say 30-35k? Probably not. Plain and simple. The fact is that BMW will come out with newer quicker, more fun or as fun cars. It will be a collectible for bimmer heads only, and that demographic is not as large as you think. Being a bimmer head, I will probably never sell it, unless for another "special edition" BMW. The car is great, it's probably the easiest 6 speed I've ever driven, but for me its the exclusivity that makes it special. If this car was as easy to acquire as the M3, I don't believe this debate would even be happening. As a weekend car I'd say go with the 1M, it's still very practical for daily use as well. For more comfort, more of a GT feel with a livelier motor and aural pleasure I'd say go with the M3. AND...If you really want to acquire a 1M...It's still possible. You'll pay a bit more, but that's life. Last edited by CSanto; 02-09-2012 at 09:21 AM.. |
