When running a square set up on the track do you still run a lower front pressure than rears or keep them all the same. What is a good place to start with advan ad08s? Can't remember what I used last time around 35lbs I think

I find that 40-41 hot works ok on my Nitto NT05 275/35 18 square setup.I usually see about a 8 psi rise in the front with 10-12 psi rise in the rear depending on the balance.I have started at 32/29 to get the presures & balance that I like.2 psi more or less in the rear does make a notable difference in the balance and is a great tool to fine tune the car.

Sorry so if you start with 39 rear and raise 10 to 12 that would make your rears way too hot right?

I also run my ad08's around 40-41 hot, but am running a staggered 265/295 and usually run a 30/31 front and 34/35 rear to achieve this hot pressure target. Think it's your driving style and preference that would dictate tire pressure but as an absolute for same characteristics would not do on a square as you would on a staggered for same results.

So gearhead are you shooting for 40lbs hot both front and rear? I asked the first question cause you said you start at 32-39 which would get your fronts in that range but make the rears too hot. More like 50.

You are correct - Gearhead mentioned 29 for the rear not 39. I aim for 40 hot, depends on the track as to how hot the fronts will get, but I find 38-41 hot seems to be the sweet spot on the NT05 and the RA1's I have run. Gearhead and I aim for the same target. He does start his rear tire pressures a little lower than me - I usually start at 32/33 for both front and rear.

I've found that 40-42 hot is a bit much with nt-01s. They start to slip, don't really wear onto the edges.
Still experimentig though..a few lbs makes a big difference in handling, but I haven't determined if it's better to have more pressure on one side yet.

39 to 42 hot. I run 40/42 and find it a good balance.

I run NT-05s at 33 cold and they wear to the top of the guide arrows. I take long cool down, so I don't get a reliable hot pressure.

I am about to track my E92 (VIR). Will be set up with Apex Arc 18x10 rims, BFG G Force R1 275X35X18 square. Anybody have experience with BFGs on the E92. Assume cold pressures in the 30 / 33 range would be a good starting point.

I run a bit less on my AD08s, but it's not a square setup, it's my street setup, 255/275.

Running a square setup with slicks, on advice from a racer/instructor, I've been running the rears with less pressure than front to help settle the car and avoid oversteer. I've had only 4 days on this setup, though, and am still experimenting.

car already understeers like a pork...even on square. so im wondering what your reasoning is

Not with my track tires.

Continental 275s slicks (the GT tire). I suppose I should have mentioned -3º camber, too. That does make a difference.
