The only thing I have programmed is the nav setting for the Nurburgring when I did ED. Every once in a while, I hit the button for nostalgias sake.

does anyone know how to reprogram a programmed button?
when i hold down a button to reprogram, it'll just program what's already playing (i'm not given the menu anymore)

I believe you just have to push and hold the button long enough to save the new feature.

yeah i know, i thought they were only for radio stations.

Can you program a specific sub screen? like I want the "car data" screen under nav, or you can only have high level screens, like Nav.

i prefer to do:
nav address, phone list, car data, on location search, radio

Just use the iDrive to go to whatever screen or option you want, highlight that option and hold one of the 6 buttons till it's saved.

The 6 buttons are also touch sensitive. Of you glide your finger on top of the button the iDrive display will show what is programmed on that button.

On some screens/functions that give you hard time, go back out 1 step and the button will accept/program it.

How do you get your iPhone to play anything other than the ipod music? Everytime I connect my iPhone it goes to my music and I can't listen to Pandora or Iheart radio, etc.

It'll do iPod or Pandora. If it does the iPod music, just open Pandora up on your phone and it switches right away.
FYI, 2011.5, with Nav

Sorry, I didn't realize you could carve out features of Idrive you didn't want.

I have also saved 50 lbs by only allowing women that weigh 50 lbs less than my ex wife to ride in the car.

Actually, this thread prompted me to go over to the electronics section and ask how to shuffle my ipod. All is good now.

Memory keys = More driving, less fiddling in iDrive.
