What's a good car cover?

I'm hoping to store the M3 when winter hits..Can anyone recommend a decent car cover that won't scratch and will fit well? Car will be stored inside, in a heated garage so I don't need a heavy duty one for outdoor use.

My dealer has the BMW brand at 20% off now - pre winter deal I guess

I opted for the Plushweave from California Car Cover Co. It fits like a glove and really soft. I would have liked it to be a little thicker, but it is thicker than the Softweave cover so it should protect it enough in the garage.

I know you said you don't need a heavy duty one, but something to consider is do you store other items around it in the garage? If so, a thicker cover can add some extra protection.

If the car is inside a heated garage there's no need for a cover. Covers scratch paint. All of them.

If you must, consider a positive pressure bubble such as the CarCapsule. A cover that doesn't touch the paint is the best cover.

All covers will introduce micro-fine scratches. It depends on how particular you are about the finish as to using a car cover. If you're detailing the car every three months anyway, I suppose using a cover won't add that much time to your correction.

I have used car covers for years and have never had an issue with scratching the paint,

1. Always wash the car before you cover it,
2. Wash the cover regularly.
3. Keep a good coat of wax on the car.

When my doors go up, if it's been raining out, the doors will drip water on the car.

Depends on your situation.

If you are putting it in the garage and won't ever open the doors or go in there for really any reason, a good coat of wax is probably all you need on the car. Get it nice and detailed before you garage it, then leave it alone.

If you're in and out of the garage, you'll probably want a cover for dust/wind/people brushing it, etc. But then again, the cover WILL leave small scratches on the car. I don't care what other people are saying, I guarantee I can find some evidence on their cars once the cover is removed. 100% guarantee. Depends on how anal you want to be though about miniscule little scratches barely visible

ive been looking for cover made of soft silky cloth like material that stretches. made just for the M3 if anyone knows anything please let me know.
