wheel spacers

dumb question... but what exactly is the point of having a wheel spacer? Also are is there a significant negative impact with running these on your car?

the reason I ask is I saw someone on the forum with spacers on the stock wheels and maybe i'm just not understanding the function of spacers.

To make the wheels flush with the fender? To many it looks better, some say you improve handling because of the wider track.

I don't really believe the wider track better handling. It also throws off the suspension geometry a little.

Mostly for looks. Sometimes functional for fitting high offset wheels that do not otherwise fit on cars.
