By deleting only the secondary cats you will not generate a CEL. The Fabspeed X-pipes I have seen mount behind the primary cats and their O2 sensors, which results in a setup that does not throw CELs. All that really matters in terms of engine self-monitoring is that you have primary cats in place (those closest to the engine).

I have the Fabspeed X pipe and it should not throw any codes if your primary cats are in place.

There's no point in installing an X-pipe that doesn't replace the primary cats. They are the source of the vast majority of the power robbing pressure drop in the stock exhaust system.
