New DCT car.. new problem :(
Hello guys,
i just got my car yesterday AW/FR extended fully loaded except HD sound and seat heating, i got it with only 3 KM on it.. i cant really write a review because of how upset and depressed i am, today at the morning i was changing the car parking spot at my home, and when i stopped the car( in DCT when u press On/Off button it automatically switch to P mode) but guess what.. it would stay in N and a message appears sayin: Gears change auto. to P position when the engine is turned off, Check with BMW service as soon as possible (not literally the msg) any1 had this problem b4?.. its really sad wakin up in the next mornin of ur new car and this happens....... |

Yeah, definitely take it in. Hopefully just a software glitch. You're not alone as it seems several other DCT owners have had other issues like stalling, unresponsiveness, etc. The more people present such issues to the dealer, the sooner BMW will offer all DCT owners better software.

Dunno. I'm far from a technician to give any advice. As long as it doesn't make any crazy or unusual mechanical sounds and drives fine when it's moving, I don't see why not.

UPDATE: i took the car today from my dealer, he told me they reinstalled the SAME software, not an updated one, the car switch to P now, but on the way back home when i was at a stop speed,, the gear shifted to N by itself .. so i press on the break and change to D again, did that happen to any1 b4? i read that some ppl had their cars stalled but does it change to N when it does that or it would be in S/D mode? and what if the gear changed to N when i am at a high speed.. would i be able to change to D? i dont think so cause i need to press on the breaks. anyone?
