OSS Type Install of Orion V2's at Umnitza in Cali?

Hello All,

So just like everyone else on here, I think very highly of the OSS Angel Eye LED ring install, but too bad I don't live in Florida and don't want to ship my headlights out there. I found that Umnitza in Concord, CA sells the Orion V2's and installs them as well. So has anyone around used them for the install, or for any other work? They claim that they can do everything that OSS can do, opinions?

I'd be very interested even though I just picked up a set of Lux. And am very happy with how they look.

I just don't understand why they don't sell them outside of Florida..

Btw. What part of Fremont do you live in? I live down by automall.

I also found a shop in Daly City called Lightwurkz that installs the Orion V2's also, in the process of getting a quote from them.
I live off of Mowry and Farwell. I'd love to see your JB with FR, this was one of the combo's I thought about, then went with Mineral White and FR. PM if you'd ever like to meet up at a Starbucks or something.

Can you update with what they quoted you? I'd be interested in working with either shop if the price is right.

i've been out to Umnitza and i know several folks that have gone through them for their E46s. i helped test some lights for them years back when i first got the E90M3 but i recently got LS3 from BavX and love them...

i've also heard great things about lightwurkz in DC... and have heard they are very capable also.

So I got a quote for $650 from Umnitza, which includes $250 for the lights and $400 for the labor (about 4-6 hours).

Lightwurkz called me yesterday and said it'd be around $600 but they do not work on Saturdays, which might be a problem for me because I work full time on the weekdays.

I have asked Umnitza to schedule an appt for me on a Saturday and I'm waiting for their reply.

Since Umnitza is the place that sells everyone else their rings, they will definitely just sell you the halos.

I might just buy the halo kit and do it myself. I've taken apart headlamps before and it's not bad at all.

I'd also be interested in a group buy based on the price.

OP, keep us posted!

I've been going back and forth between the OSS rings vs. Lux.

Here is the update: Umnitza also does not do installs on Saturdays, I've been working with Anthony over at Lightwurkz to work something out but he wants me to leave my car there from Saturday to Monday, not really a huge fan of doing that. After not having seen any reviews of installs of LED rings by either of the two shops, I am starting to get cold feet and might just end up getting the LUX light bulbs instead.

You could always just pull your bumper and just give them the headlights for a day.

The crappy local shop that does the LED upgrade that I will not name charges $100 to pull the bumper for the mod.

I did this mode myself and hi HIGHLY suggest you guys send it to the pros to do it. Unless, you have a lot of time, patience, and handy. The rings are not straight plug and play. The outer rings will need a custom bracket for it to hold in place. The chrome around the headlights are VERY fragile to anything abrasive.

I know 600 is spendy but probably one of the best look you can get.

I ended up getting Umnitza to install mine, they look great. The cost was about $700, and it took them between 4-5 hours to do. They're located in Concord and are only open on the weekdays. They're not very good at answering the phone, but will reply to emails very quickly.
