Hard/soft leather??

Which is better? My friend gave me a ride in his dads new Genesis Sedan V8 and the leather is sooo soft its amazing!!! I didn't know if that was a good thing or bad?? Is the soft less durable? Thanks for the help

I guess the answer depends on whether you prefer hard or soft leather.

Soft leather will wear faster, but it is 1000x more comfortable. When my 1er needs new leather (assuming I keep it that long), I am going to replace it with leather like lexus uses....

not really, all automotive-grade leather have been treated to withstand regular wear and tear

Comparing my 335 with the E9x M3 leather, it's a world difference. I like the "feel" of the M3 leather, but prefer the "look" of the 335 leather.

The M has got some nice soft leather, but for some reason IMHO it looks cheap on the door panels because it's slightly loose. No offense to M owners.

My $0.02

Soft leather is so much better. Except maybe for a motorcycle jacket, there I think you kind of want it stiffer.
