Houston Tune

Im looking to tune my car, 2010 e92 M3. I've been debating between BPM tune or a local tuner here in Houston. Anyone know a good tuner with Dyno in Houston? I'm also gonna do test pipes with the tune.
Feel free to give me feedback on the BPM Tune or any experiences you guys have had with a tuner
Thanks

I had the BPM stage I and stage II tunes + DCT tune and couldn't have been happier with them. The throttle response, power delivery, and overall feel of the car with BPM's tune was the best.

Yeah, I've read nothing but great things about the BPM tune. On the DCT tune does it just make the shifting smoother? Does it help at all with the lag while driving in automatic?

Take a look at our AA Software. We have seen gains in excess of 10whp throughout the rpm range. It is definitely a noticeable difference. Vehicle revs smoother. Cold start idle is adjusted.

Send me a PM if you have any questions

I'd hit up Frank Smith Tuning or BPM, nobody in houston is going to be able to 'tune' your car. Both seem to be reputable tuners and it's easy with their hardware.

The GTS DCT tune will pretty much resolve all the issues that the DCT has like shifting into reverse, lag between shifts. You can get the GTS DCT tune for really cheap < $100, just do some digging and you can find it.

Talking I recommend you go to M Power

I am sure the only shop local to you that can tune your car is M Power. Talk to Ted. M Power in Houston is a Authorized AA dealer and they can hook you up with a AA tune. I had a AA tune on my M3 before I went supercharged. I like the AA tune. I Also hear good things about the BPM tune, we have a few members in our ///M Flight Club in the USA and over sea's in Europe that have BPM tunes. Warning once you put a tune on your M3 you are going to want more power and end up going the Supercharger route trust me .

I had a pretty good experience with the BPM as I took my car to full bolt-on. Wound up getting a stage II but later changed to stage I(sound). Mike was pleasant and accommodating of my schedule and the second tune was really inexpensive. I also had some hardware issues with the dongle but he got that resolved really quickly.

The only thing I didn't especially like from the tune was the servotronic settings. I had the steering changed back to stock on the second tune. Maybe it was me or maybe it was the combination of the settings map with the power pulley, but the steering just felt a little too stiff around town.

To be honest though, if I had to do it again and only had a grand to spend total... I probably would skip it. Much to the chagrin of my wife, I learned later that I liked the track a lot more than driving in straight lines(thanks John). With the 1k in Houston I would get some brake pads, fluid, and 2-3 weekends at MSR.

As far as the tune goes, I personally can't tell the HP difference between stock, stg I, and stg II. My butt-dyno must be out of cal. I really do like the cold start delete, long warm up cycle, and top speed limiter removal though.

Thanks for the input. I know Ted very well, was actually at his shop last week. He really wants to tune my car but am hesitant...
As far as the GTS tune my main concern is getting rid of the lag between shift in D mode. It pauses, then lunges when flooring it. If i give it half or 75% throttle it shifts perfectly but when in WOT it pauses, seems like it doesnt know what it wants to do.
I always drive in m mode S5 - sport plus

Try the Dinan DCT tune.....it's great. And Ted is a great guy. He's been after me as well trying to tune my car. If I ever decide to switch from my Dinan software I would consider him........Phil

Reading these reviews are making me more and more excited about getting a tune but I notice that the BPM tune is alot more expensive than the DCT GTS Flash that people are getting as well from Alpine MSS. I'd love some help on an explanation as to why one is better than the other.

Going to check out M Power in Houston as well

Thanks guys

Sorry for the Highjack!!!
