M Power Tour

I left work promptly at 5PM today and as I pulled out I saw a car carrier loaded with BMW M3s. I knew instantly that it was for the M Power Tour that I will be attending tomorrow afternoon. I followed the car carrier over to the Blackhawk Auto Museum where they were setting up and took a few pictures.

They had just pulled out the X5M and X6M and I noticed an M1 in the covered car carrier.

Please excuse the poor quality of the photos. All I had was my iPhone.

I didnt get the invite but I was able to do the walk up registration. As my brother did receive an invitation through the local CCA chapter and as an interested buyer of the M3.. Here are my pics of the X5M. These were taken on my iPhone. I have more on my other phone but I dont have the card reader with me.. I"ll try to get them up tonight.

sorry a bit OT but to me the x5/6 M fronts are so tacky and feel like cheap aftermarket front end.. and the rears are so plain..(well, x5 is.. the x6 has an ugly ass to begin wth).

but i still wanna go to a M-tour if it comes to town

Someone needs to get a picture of a Le Mans M3 (or any Le Mans car, like an E39 M5) next to that Monte Carlo X5 M. I'd love to see just how much lighter the Monte Carlo is in sunlight.

AFAIK, there isn't any schedule posted anywhere public. Try calling 866-900-4BMW for more info.

sorry but it's invitation only. and that's the only information they posted. Although they encourage invites only they do accept walk up registrations.

I got invited this. Went to this one yesterday at the Blackhawk Museam parking lot....3:30pm reservation. They also gave me a M water bottle. They let you drive it alone for 25mins on a mapped course. They also said if you crash it, you just bought yourself an M3. They also said to leave the DSC on but to play with the DCT, power button and suspension button. Lots of fun. I'll post up some pictures when i have time.

They were supposed to give you one when you went to the registration booth. I guess the girl forgot. Did you at least get the DCT pin?

I'm signed up for tomorrow morning in Newport Beach. So is it basically just a half hour solo test drive? And are they all DCT? I hope not...

well it's not really 30mins. it's a preassigned route. it depends how fast you want to go through it. I took 10mins for the one in Blackhawk on Wednesday. And from what I recall they were all DCT's but in different bodies, coupe, vert, and sedans

I participated in the tour this afternoon and I must say that I had an absolute blast driving the e92 M3! It is significantly faster than my M coupe and what's really noticeable is the amount of torque available in the lower revs.

I'm also a huge fan of the DCT tranny and was amazed at how fast the shifts are in S5. If I end up getting an e92 m3 after my m coupe, I'd definitely check that option box
