Power folding side view mirrors?
I don't know if they exist or not, but I've seen some M5's that have the power folding side view mirrors. Do our cars have it in any part of the world?

When were power folding mirrors invented? I also heard that some M5s come with with some sort a fancy brakes called ABS or something.... Is that an option on M3s?

I've got them on a Canadian model E92 M3 coupe. In Canada in 2011 you had to order the executive package to get them on that model. I don't know about other years or models.

Damn ... sorry for the stupid question. Just went outside pushed the button (with the car still off) and VOILA!
Didn't notice the button because I was so caught up in the moment with the engine and handling of the car Sorry guys. |

In fairness since the 2012 manual is not yet available online so those of us with cars on order are making do with living vicariously through others who do have the manual. I did however download the 11 manual which I figure cant be too far out of whack and I have read that pretty much end to end at this point. Not that I'll remember all that stuff as there IS a lot of stuff.

On my M3 the folding mirrors will move in and out very quickly at speeds over 75 mph. They act like wings and help with down force for better handling.

In that case let's really blow your mind. Go outside and hold the unlock button down for several seconds continuously

No need to be sorry ... most of us here asked them kind of questions ... besides there are no stupid questions only stupid answers.

Regarding the power folding mirrors though. In my E61, if the mirrors were folded in during park, they would fold out when I started driving ... not so the case in the M3. You have to press the button to get them to unfold. |

I only use it in the summer time and only if I cannot find a parking spot on the very outside permitter of the chopping centre parking lot (and believe me that never happens since everyone pars as close to the entrance as they can). Guess what the open window(s) will close ... leave it to the designer(s) ... they look after you, should you forget.... after all we paid for all that

Actually I don't think you have to. I tried this recently and found the mirrors automatically deploy at a speed in the low 20s (mph that is, I guess that would be around 40 kph.)
