I think your comment about the 6.1 vs 3.0 litter engine does not make much sense in this scenario...

So what if SRT-8's engine is a big fat 6.1 liter?

Would you like to put that against Porsche's 911 Turbo ONLY 3.6 Inline 6 cylinder Engine?

Engine size does not matter! It's the output of the engine, combined with other factors (like transmission, curb weight etc) that really make the car.

Those numbers are great, but also each track is different (elevation, quality of pavement etc.).

If you run you car at LACR in Los Angeles you will get 13.5 or slower, so it all depends....

Sure all tracks are different but at ATCO, his car would be 12.6 stock. Looking at dragtimes, there isn't one 335i that has cracked 12's stock anywhere.

Nice number for 1/4 mi...and that was stock? PROcede 335i's are now running 12.5x-12.6x sec. @ 108+mph 1/4 mi. (and ~ 4.5-4.6 sec. 0-60mph).

Your 100% correct. But when I made that pass it was in positive DA. Which means I was racing in air that was higher elevation than the track which in turn means thinner and less dense air which mean slower times (for you guys who are new to drag racing)They were a few guys over in LA who ran 13.1 stock with the 300c srt8. The charger's are a little bit heavier and are consistantly 1 to 2/10ths slow than the 300s.

I raced one recently. Wasn't really a race more like just messing around on the highway. It completely owned me. Funny thing though it was an older male, was very cool guy just having fun. I would expect him to be driving an M5 instead, maybe he is a American auto fan.

So, if the air was different, you would have gotten better times than 12.9?

Well, it looks like you'd be very close to the times of an E60 M5 then...

With over 100 lbs heavier and 75 hp less....

Yes, in negative DA I would have ran 12.7x during that pass. Don't forget my best stock was 12.8x.

Lets get this clear, I'm no where near the times of a e60 m5. If it's in the hands of a good driver he will get 12.1 @116-118. However, most e60 owners find it a hand full to launch without lighting up the tires in 1st and 2nd gear.

The power to weight ratio says the Charger/300C should kill us.

Charger/300C ~4200lbs/425hp =9.88 lb/hp
335 ~3600lbs/300hp =12lb/hp

I have never seen 12.1 with a E60 M5. Most M5's get around 12.5.

I'm guessing that part of the reason for it's slower acceleration times have to do with its BS "manu-matic" tranny.

I'm guessing that the dodge's huge front end also increases drag which will slow it down as well. Think of it like this...you have a brick shaped object vs a bullet shaped object...what's gonna pass through the air better...

I saw that a long time ago (maybe a few months...lol). IMO It's not fair to compare the e60 m5 to the srt8. The M5 is miles ahead in price, build quality, hp, etc. It's a overall better car.

Very true. The pcm only allows 75% throttle in 1st gear and it reduces the torque during shifts between gears. Damn you Chrysler

I have gotten the car up to 171mph on several occassions and it's governed.
