Begining to see some E90's
I've noticed 2 E90's in the last three days here in Walnut Creek, CA. Sunday I saw a SG 325i and and today at lunch I saw a TiAg E90 w/Sport package. I just about broke my neck when I saw it, AWESOME! It looks so damn good on the road. The driver must of thought I was nuts!
I digress... Danny |

Yup I'm starting to see a bunch too. For a split second each time I think it's an E46 but then I immediately realize it's an E90 and think "hmm that's a nice lookin car!"

They are starting to pop up on the roads around here (Charlotte) as well. Interestingly enough, I've found it's the often ridiculed backend - specifically the tail lights - that helps in getting a positive ID that they are indeed e90s when they zip by. Which is actually nice because it can still be difficult at times distiguishing an e46 from a Honda Civic from the back.
Also, and this never struck me from photos, but when they are approaching from the opposite direction, there's a resemblence to the 5-series. I guess it's because the e90 is a bit larger now?? Of course a quick glance at the headlights immediately separates the two. |

I guess that deploying isn'r really that bad. I live in a small (less than 3000) military community. On my base alone, I have already seen 3 325's. 2 of my friends that were with me each got a 325 (White & SG) and I got a 330i. I really think that isn't that bad for such a small community.
Don't you think so??

Yeah, white E90s are beautiful. I just could not go from one white car to the other.

I've seen 2 so far since I picked mine up. A black 325i on the way out from the dealership and a TiAg 325i on 33rd street on the East Side next to NYU Medical. Funny story actually for New Yorkers, if you ever drive on the BQE towards the Triborough keep an eye on other cars as you approach the transfer point for the LIE. Theres a huge billboard there of the new 3 series and I have gotten several looks as I make my way back home. I've seen people point to the billboard then point to my car, I just find that quite amusing. I know after a year or so theres going to be alot more E90's on the street.

Both of my parent's E46s were bought through military car sales at Niederlassung Darmstadt. Buying a bimmer while overseas is definitely something that should be on people's 'to-do" lists. Especially since you save quite a bit of money. Oh yea, and you get to drive on the autobahn. :rocks: edit: on topic though, I dont think I've seen any on the roads of Kansas City or Lawrence. edit2: Nevermind ldpantoja. Checked out your CarDomain site and saw you're at Vilseck. Was only there twice and once was to play golf, lol. I also remember asking you in a thread awhile back why you got the small USAREUR plates too. |

I saw my first one today on the streets. It was a 325i SG driven by a young lady. One thing I will say that very pleasantly surprised me was the 3 horizontal lines in the tail lights. When I first read about the e90, I was real disappointed that they didn't do LEDs in the rear tail lights and that the rear end looked very bland. But if you have the chance to see a moving e90 on the road from behind, you will see the tail lights have 3 glowing horizontal bands that are just beautiful. Very unique. To me, made up for my original disappointment in BMW's rear tail lights. Until today, I thought Nissan/Infiniti had the best rear tail light designs out there. Now I know the e90's tail lights are the bomb!

I saw a silver 330 with SP where I work. As far as American's, I will be the second one to take delivery in Stuttgart. And I had to go for the long European plates. If I remember correctly, we are allowed to drive in the US for 30 days with USAEUR plates on.

I commute essentially daily down I-280 from San Francisco to Silicon Valley. This stretch of highway is a veritable showroom of new and exotic cars. BMWs in particular seem to make up some 30% or more of the road. Surprisingly, though, I have seen relatively few E90s until recently. This past week however I've seen about one a day. Today I saw two. They've been mostly black, though I've seen a few sparkling graphites. They look pretty nice on the road.
