Yes, please...

BMW shouldn't be just contemplating it, but confirming it will happen. Hope to sticking to the real roots of the E30 M3...even if it's not called a M3. This car looks mean and punchy. Hell yes.

Looking forwards more to the 2 Series and M2. 2 doors, much sexier than the current 1er, plus reminiscent of the E30/36/46 because of the light weight and small size. Both of these however seem to be much better drivers cars than the more upscale modern 3er, and the upcoming 4er. I'm glad for that, its so great to see BMW getting back to their roots and back.to what they're notorious for: light, nimble, agile, tossable Driver's Cars that make the driver feel truly as one with his car.
Can't wait for the new 1M and M2!

I agree the potential is encouraging of M doing what they do best - again.

Although they are not confirming anything at this early date, I suspect it is well past the point of mere contemplation by now. It is probably close to approval.

I, too, am anxious to see these. Note, however, that the rendering above is actually of the 4 door M2 GC.

Edit: I see what you were saying now - the word "more" was sort of hiding there, at least from me.

You'll be waiting a long while for a new 1M. M2 should indeed be on the way though.

Might be the size of the E30 chassis; it could be a seller.

Don't worry, this render was based on the F2x 1 Series which means it has a number of incorrect details. Just like the 4 will have an exterior that is completely unique as compared to the 3, so will the 2 when compared to the 1. This doesn't mean, of course, that BMW won't get the headlights wrong in a different way, but I'll bet they come up with something less polarizing.

I like the F80 M3 actually, but this car seems to have great potential given the power to weight ratio it would logically have. The icing on the cake would be a high revving NA motor dropped in, but that ain't going to happen.

Just like the new 335 and lesser models, I think the front end looks like absolute shit.

+1

Won't even look at this car if the front end looks like this.
