So I want to use my 19" take off wheels for my track day set up, but I am finding the options are pretty limited.

Curious if anyone has done this and with what tire?

Has anyone tried Hoosier with a 235 front and 265 rear? Not perfect fitment, but pretty close.

Pirellli Corsa looks great, but the sizing is not working with the rear 220 19" wheels- This option fits better with my BBS CHR, but that is the opposite of what I want to do!

Really looking for a dedicated track set-up, rather than a high performance tire that works on the track.

if you're looking for a dedicated set up,
sell the 19s and get 18s. or just get 18s, they're not that much money.

the oem 19's are a compromised setup for both diameter and width, and it is a square setup. not only does this severely limit your tire options, it will prevent you from rotating.

I would go with Square ARC8's or another comparable wheel with RA1, R888, NT01, or Hankook Z214.

OK guys- I have reasons to keep my 19" wheels, I know that there are better options with 18" wheels, but that is not my question.

though they're on back order

AD08s aren't a dedicated Track tire but they're hell of a tire

My fear is that they will loose grip at the end of a session- that's why I would like a dedicated track tire, so I get full performance throughout my sessions.

If you're not an advanced driver I wouldn't run race compound tires anyways. High performance street tires such as AD08s should have plenty of grip for most drivers.

Lot's of opinions on that- bottom line, advanced or intermediate, if you push street tires, they don't hold up. Most people who track often enough are happy with a more dedicated track tire. That's where I'm headed.

All right I hear you all- I don't have space for more wheels and tires, it's just that simple. With four cars and winter wheels and tires for three of them, I'm simply out of room, and the 19" wheels are staying with me. They go back on the car when it goes.

Sooooooo, let's treat this like a brain teaser- Imagine you can only track your car with the 19" 220 wheels and you want an aggressive track tire. What would you do?

Like I said I would be running AD08s. And that is exactly what I am running.

How do they hold up? Do they last through a 20 to 30 minute session without loosing performance?

They are (and similar tires) the most durable tires on the track short of R compounds. Depending on your driving style, track, temps, etc, yes they will hold up very well for a session. Doesn't look like you have a BBK or other brake mods, so on stock brakes they will fade well before AD08s.

BTW, what about PSCs in stock 19 sizes?

PSC's are a good option, but no more grip (just longer lasting in extreme conditions) than the standard Pilots (at least according to comparison tests). They are same $$ as Pirelli Corsa, but older design. You have a point though, they are available in stock sizes...

I would get the AD08s over the PSS if you're looking for a more track oriented tire. They come in stock sizes as well but I'd run 255/275.

Indeed. We use the Yokohoma Advan Neova AD08 on all of our shop cars, and they have been great on and off the track. Though it's not a dedicated track tire, it's a great dual duty tire that saves you the hassle of having two sets of wheels

your best option in this case is the michelin pilot sport cups. the 997 porsche gt3 RS comes with factory 19inch MPSC N1 spec tires and is the perfect dual purpose street/track tire. they have similar grip levels to say a NT01 and will not chunk like a PS2 on the track. they are an expensive tire (esp 19's) and do not last very long at all. i dont know if they have sizes for the M3, you can check tirerack.

however, if you are going to the track more often, and getting faster, its time to buck up and get a set of dedicated 18inch track wheels/tires.

I have 265/295 AD08 as my track setup. Traction was fine in 20 minute sessions. Really depends on the level of driver you are. I'm just intermediate. I have no complaints.

So to clarify- I am not looking for a dual purpose tire. These are track only tires even though they are going on the 19" wheels- for reasons explained above.

So, we have people recommending Yoko AD08's, but- as a dedicated track tire?

What about the Hoosiers in the 235 265 size? Any feedback on that?

235 is too small for the front..
