Question After Market Products...

This is the first question that I will have posted on the site so try not to lay in to me too hard.

I'm on list for the M3 (like a lot of others on this site) and dont know too much about the after market products for these types of cars.

1. Where could I find a solid exhaust?

2.....Possibly a chip?

3. Stronger Brakes?

4. lastly, a reliable radar?

Any input will help

Well some of these questions are a little bit premature since the car isn't out yet that why we are all on a wait list right??

1. your not going to find one right now but after a couple months look into eisseman, supersprint, tubi, ect... just to name a few.

2. Chip? again cars not out yet so tuners can't possibly develop a chip for it...

3. Stronger breaks...heard of brembo? wouldn't you want to test out the stock first...

4. Valentine 1 hands down...paired w/ a laser jammer is great...use the search function & check out www.guysoflidar.com for more info...

It be awesome if Shiv can create a chip for the new M by the time the DCT comes out.

Looking at Vishnutunning.com, it seems that Shiv and co. tune turbo'ed cars. The E92 M3 is a naturally aspirated V8. There has been quite a bit of discussion on this board about the very limited tunning capabilities of this car with chips, piggybacks, electronic flashes and what have you compared to the 335TT setup. I guess we'll see.

actually the gains from my experience can be significant. ive seen up to 20-50hp and 30-50ftlbs increase but this is not important what is important is how the power is made and where the power shows up on the graph. BMW has done an Amazing job so far. But with an upgraded intake, exhaust, and ecu maps I believe you could make a good 450-465 bhp on the M at most. Add in some cams and shoot maybe 475bhp these are just an educated guess. take a look at the evo sport M5 cams +exhaust +tune turned 500bhp into 550 rwhp!

Honestly, I'd be shocked if there's a lot of power to be drawn out of this new engine, short of FI, given BMWs previous track record of tuning their engines pretty hard from the factory. BUT, considering it's based off the M5/M6 V10, and there is power to be had from them, there might be some chance to pull a little extra power out of it.

Post Products

I work at a BMW dealer near Chicago and get info on lots of parts, if you need more info just ask me.

If you want a free-flowing, good sounding exhaust for your M: Eisenmann and Kreis-sieg make the best out there. here is the site of one of the sole dealers in the US that carry these exhausts www.eisenhaus.com I warn you these exhausts are made in limited numbers and are kinda expensive but well worth it.

In terms of software... I would only have the top speed limiter removed (this can be done by the dealer) you will void the warranty by "chipping your car, it also causes havoc when they need to run a diagnostic on your car.

Brakes: it has 14.2 inch fronts, but if you want more stopping power go for a Brembo GT kit www.brembo.com

And as for a radar: go and get the K40 Calibre system www.k40.com (this is the system used in exotics)

Hope I helped you in your search

Not possible since the ECU for the standard trans M3 will nodoubtedly be different than the DCT ECU...(*similar to the DINAN E46 M3 software to the SMG E46 M3 software)

But it won't be that much after the original tune comes and the DCT comes out, since the hard part of tuning for power is done.

Again, these are 200% are my guesses and I am an idiot and blah, blah...and I don't represent "random tech school" or "BMW" themselves...

^^Just covering my ass so the flamers don't bitch at me cause I am young (21), gorgeous, and soon to be making just as much, if not more money than them. AAAAANNNDD!!!!!! I know how to take apart and reassemble their cars bumper to bumper, and they have to pay ppl like me to do it, for lots money!

(Maybe Im immature, but oh well. Motion for BAN!!!)
