That does sound pretty nice, especially for just an axle back. Thanks for the vid.

So is the car in??? Hope to see you in Vegas. Consider doing Infineon the week before too.

I'm liking the sound but too many exhausts drone while cruising and everyone's opinion of "drone" is different.

Oh, maybe it is the full system. I guess I assumed that section 3 was the axle back only.

Hey Austin. Should be taking delivery in approx. 2 weeks Probably going to wait until Vegas for the first HDPE. I might be going to Haiti to volunteer which may conflict, but at this time I'm 100% for Vegas.

Yeah, I'm in search of the "perfect" exhaust for this car. Will probably be the first mod I do. I won't be able to live with any drone either.

Let us know when you get the car. I've been through a few exhausts and the one I have now is pretty close to perfect for me.

Gentlemen,

Thank you for your comments and the two orders we received, much appreciated.

Here are some answers to your questions;

1) This is the AE Performance S3 (Axle Back) Race System - Not the system pictures on our website, but the race system which does not incorporate those muffler cans.

2) Drone is apparent on this system - some say it is livable - some think it is too much. Our sport system is the system we developed that is much more subtle and doesn't "drone."

3) We will be releasing video of that system this weekend. We are tying our best to pump out videos, but it takes a bit of time with the day to day operations still in full effect

4) I will see if some of our clients can come on here and give their opinions in the future

5) Our car will be here every other day or so starting Friday with this system on it, if you want to drive it or hear it in person

6) We can always meet in the Newport Beach area if you are interested in hearing it in person in the evening as well.

7) Tips are not adjustable - there are two versions - E90 and E92/E93 for tip length compensations. Other than that, the exhausts are identical.

8) This "Race" version is a tad quieter and cleaner than the Gintani exhaust, for comparisons sake (someone asked how it compares in DB level to that system)

9) We will perform cruising between 2-3K RPM interior video on our "Sport" system so you may all assess our opinion of little to no "drone"

I think that is about it - any more questions - fire away, we're here to help.

Have a good one!

Regards,

Ryne O'Donnell

The other drone area is 1500-1900 rpm. I found that more annoying than the 2000-3000 rpm drone on other exhausts.

I agree about the 1900 RPM drone. Even the OEM exhaust has a slightly noticeable drone at that RPM range. The AE Performance exhaust has very little to no drone in that range, although everyone has a different opinion on drone.

Starting next week, if anyone wants to go for a ride and hear the exhaust in person I can meet up most anywhere in Orange County (Newport Beach is preferred).

Let me know!

AE Performance E90/E92 M3 Exhaust Install

Hi guys-

As some of you know I previously had a Dinan exhaust on the car and was looking around for a change. Personally, I was not a fan of the black tips and always has problems with tip alignment. I have been looking around for different exhaust systems for over 6 months. I have seen and heard over 12+ systems in person and liked a lot of them

I wanted to try a new system as I like to stay away from the crowd and do my own thing! With the new AE system only installed on shop cars this was my calling. Only reading about AE on the forums I decided to give them a call...I spoke personally with Casey and was blown away by the amount of knowledge he kept throwing at me about my M3 and my GT3. I have been following AE for a while from the start of their project M3 and their presence on the track. Do not get me wrong, I love *pretty* girls but as far as performance parts go I want parts that simply are all business. I want parts that have been tested on the track, been put to the test, and do not fail. I am not one to complain about looks - I want them to work that is it. Casey and I spoke more about the roll bar setup and the exhaust for about an hour. I said what the hell - it is just money after all

Four days later the exhaust showed up. The packing was perfect, the exhaust was covered in all of the right places and carefully inspected. Perfect

Thanks again Casey @ AE Performance I look forward to working with you guys in the future!

1.) Wow - the exhaust is light! Compared to the Dinan exhaust this setup weighed in 3.6lbs lighter per side which is always a plus!

2.) Fitment was spot on - no screwing around with tips which makes install a breeze.

3.) Schwag? I mean AE sent me 2 shirts, a bunch of stickers, plate frames. Always makes me smile when you are not just another sale...

The sound is great! Videos will be uploaded shortly. It is louder than the Dinan but really not by much. I would happily say it is a great daily driver M3 exhaust!

If you are in the market and want an exhaust that does not suck give the guys at AE a call. I installed the exhaust in around 30 minutes and everything lined up perfectly. You can tell the system is top notch when you do not have to swear at anyone during installation!

Exhaust packed very well and arrived safely:

Stock exhaust (sold the Dinan earlier this week):

Fitment was perfect with no issues of clearance:

Looks great Martin! Is that the standard section 3 exhaust or the race exhaust? MSRP? Any drone? Love to hear it!

Standard - I will post the videos and you can judge the drone yourself. I have not had a single issue with drone while driving at highway speeds.
