CHP tailgating at night, 10 west betwn 605 and 710

Hey fellas, i was heading west on the 10 fwy just before the 605 around 930pm. Saw chp pulled over someone so i just cruised at 80ish mph. A few mins later this a*hole started tailgaiting me till about half way to 710. Normally i would just gun it, but i looked in my rearview mirror and something about the headlights and what looked like a roof rack just told me to chill at traffic speed. The jerk finally let off and passed me on the carpool lane. It turned out to be ChP, it sped ahead of me, weaved in and out of traffic and pulled some poor guy over. That was pretty sneaky to tailgait and try to bait me into speeding. Eyes open out there fellas!

Have this happened before... But a few nights ago at like 1 AM by kanan 101S i was driving with my buddies at 70-75 and this car is coming up fast im like what could this be its a hyundai sonata... and behind that a Toyota camry atleast 120mph. I floored it because ive never seen this before but i only hit maybe 90-100. Then i stopped and they kept going! This is like 45 seconds to minute and they keep going till out of site. Then i see another car behind me and one of my friends are like race it! Im like yea i feel like racing that CHP and he flew by my and my friend said how do you know. All i said is the headlights.

instead of "getting you to bait" why wouldn't you just switch lanes and allow him to pass?

Because I drive an M3 not a prius lol

joking aside, the point is an officer was doing the tailgating, if he needed me to move all he had to do was flash his lights or travel on either side of me.

I was pulled over yesterday, for tint and front plate, 1min after exiting my driveway. CHP flipped a U after we crossed paths.

This is why America sucks to drive in. You have to highbeam a car in front of you to pass. lol

Usually on the freeway if CHP was coming up. I would just get over to let them pass. I'm used to getting pulled over for DWB in the past years...

Sharing to all of us the police are out enforcing the law is one thing and appreciated but being disrespectful is another.

Also, if it was a CHP behind you, it WASN'T tailgating, just more reason why you should've moved over.

You cruised at 80ish and the Chippy bumper paced you. An 80+ ticket is like $400 in CA. Consider yourself lucky. See my point OP. Where in your post does the officer need to be disrespected? I can see if you got pulled over and the contact was unprofessional then I'd have to agree.

Can you explain this please?

Most people won't know if it's a CHP Car or not behind them (without the lights on).

So is tailgating legal if it's CHP? I'm confused
