Should I start panicking?

So this morning I left my M3 with Sterling BMW to install the alarm. This afternoon got a call saying I can't pick up my car and I'd have to wait till tomorrow at noon. An hour later I got another call saying the computer crashed and I'd have to pick up the car on Monday.

Man.. what should I do?

[Edit] Yep got the car back on Monday. Everything seems to be installed correctly. They had to replace my sirius module for some reason. Certain settings were lost in iDrive. Overall not bad.

The interior did smell like crap afterwards, like massive BO. I had to bust out the air spencer for the first time since I got it 3 years ago. So long new car smell! =(

Now everything considered, my SA Christopher was a good guy. He followed up on everything even on his days off. Total experience out of 10: [3/10]. Would I go back to Sterling in the future? Ehh.. =/

Just checked Sterling's BBB rating.. F http://www.la.bbb.org/BusinessReport...ompanyID=25696

Sounds like they fucked up and are waiting for parts to come in. Tell them you must get the car back by tomorrow.

BMW is updating their computer systems. Mine is at East Bay and has been since Wed morning for a reprogram. Don't worry about it unless you don't trust your dealer.

Don't worry? haha, you better worry about it. that's a lot of money you're not enjoying everyday your car is sitting at the dealer.

That's true.. it's $26 per day I'm losing by not having my M3. Anyway I checked the car out today. Seems OK, the computer troubles seem legitimate. Hopefully I get it on Monday. If not I'm gonna be so pissed.

Alarm install is optional, and requires a reinstallation of software, so it is going to take time...if somebody is going to worry about the money you are losing while the car is in the shop, the alarm might not be worth it.

It takes 1 hr labor for installation and 2-3 hrs unattended computer programming. This is if there were no technical delays. (That's what the dealer told me)

Hey,

I just had my alarm reprogrammed. It took southbay autohaus an hr ish. Since my car was pretty new it didnt take that long. He said that it could take somewhere from 30 min to 4 hrs.

Just fyi. Quais is pretty good there. Very careful with bmws if u want to go to someone private instead of the dealer.

Well I finally got the car back. Installation seems OK. You can read my edit on the first post for my final remarks.
