Is it worth buying now?

I am in the market for an 2009 M3 coupe, and wanted your guys opinion on this.

Not sure if this has been talked about. Since what I have heard that the 2011 M3 will be a twin turbo, is ti worth buying a 2009 M3 now?

Or should i wait? Or should I look at another car?

sorry if it has been discussed.

Sorry, but this is one of my pet peeves. If this is one of your major concerns, you should probably never buy a car, a computer, or an electronic device. Something newer and improved is always going to come along in a couple of years. You'll save a lot of money that way, and you'll spend a lot of your life just waiting to have fun.

The classis dilemma is that a desirable product is sold at a premium price near it's introduction, and only becomes more affordable after the market gets a little saturated. Then it's time for the next great thing.

+1. If you want it and can afford it, buy it. Plus, the next one isn't going to be 2011... more like 12 or 13. You've only got so many good years on this earth. It's not worth waiting years for the next greatest thing. Get one now, bear down on your other finances if you have to, get it paid off and if the next one is so great you can trade your paid off car for a new one then. You'll end up moving up to a newer car probably without higher monthly payments because you'll have a fairly new car as a trade in. And in the mean time, you get to enjoy driving a great car instead of waiting years, which is the whole point.

By the time the 2013 roles around, you would have probably paid off your e9X M3. Get the 2009...why wait until 2012-2013 for a car. By that time, you may be wealthier and you could probably afford something more expensive.

Agree with those thoughts totally. I just last month bought my '09 E90 M3, and I am definitely "older". If you want it, will enjoy it, do it NOW..!!

Stop wasting your life away, er I mean waiting . Like previously stated, if you can afford it buy it. You won’t regret it. Heck I wish I could have each generation of M in my garage, but that's just me.

+1, the day you drive the car off the lot it will drop 20% in ACV.

Reminds me of people who wont wash their cars cause its gonna rain in a few days, week, or even longer... might as well never wash it because rain will come (quicker in some places than others).

Life's too short. Buy it now if you can afford it.

No chance of that whatsoever.

All E9x M3s, including the future MY2011, MY2012 and MY2013 are nearly 100% guaranteed to use the exact same 414hp naturally aspirated V8 found in the MY2008, MY2009 and MY2010 model.

The F3x M3, due in five years or more will be a turbo charged six cylinder.

Yes get it! What are you waiting for! If I had the money(extra) then i would be driving it right now!

However, if you don't got enough funds laying around don't get it then. Be smart and just save or invest in something else. Remember cars automatically depreciate!

You guys were a little harsh, as he said he's a new member. I say buy it now too but then again I was first in line when the new M came out and had no self control in order to wait and get a better deal.

I'd wait for the new one.

But that is just me.

Get the new one and you have like what 5 years of having the new one?

See i thought it was going to be turboed in 2011 not 2013... 2013 is a long time from now. I am going to go to a bmw dealership in the morning tomorrow, after checking out the GTR

Good stuff! The GTR is a nice ride but the launch control voiding warranty is BS, and some other ergonomics are a no-no.

The M3 is the best all-around vehicle + Great Track Car!

But get the GTR if you really like it, go with your heart these are emotionful purchases

Easy answer. Lease You'll end up using it more just because you have to use the miles. You'll also end up enjoying it more than you would if it were sitting in the garage or worrying about dings and dents. Buying always makes it seem like an eternal life choice. If you lease, you're driving a car you want and looking forward to the next one. I have another 2.5 years on mine which seems like an eternity. If i bought it I'd prolly feel like the clock is ticking on it. But that's just me.

GTFO n00b. If you want twin turbo buy a 2009 335i. Anyone that signs up as "NewMember" is a troll anyways. Probably a 335i or GT-R owner.
