Muffler/Exhaust dB Readings
It would be great to get a list going for an exhaust dB reference!
If possible, could you guys list: muffler/x-pipe/db OR muffler/x-pipe/db requirement (pass or fail) ex: Eisenmann Sport / stock x-pipe / 92 db Eisenmann Race / stock x-pipe / 102 db OR Eisenmann Sport / stock x-pipe/ passed @ Laguna (92 db limit) Eisenmann Race / Challenge Race / failed @ Laguna (92 db limit) From Nate@iND in a previous thread Eis SPORT-Version: moving vehicle = 75 db stationary vehicle = 92 db at 6.225 1/min value of backpressure = -25% Eis RACE-Version: moving vehicle = apr. 95 db stationary vehicle = apr. 102 db at 6.225 1/min value of backpressure = apr. -32% Thanks in advance!

Anyone have insight on the popular devices racetracks use to measure decibels?

Once I get home from overseas I plan on order one from Amazon. The Mini Digital Sound Level Meter for $28 has pretty good reviews.

Realistically you'll need everyone to use the same app or device to get accurate readings otherwise it's like comparing dyno charts from two different dynos that are run differently

Having everyone purchase the same sound level meter would be best but the most I'm hoping for is enough responses for each system to normalize the distribution

I tried the app, very different readings them the actual meter. I even tried it with a different phone and reading were off. I will be going to a meet this weekend. I will take my db reader and get readings off all the M3s with different exhaust and take pic, and post
