Well, if you like at the 4th pic in my OP, you will see they project some light up to 75 ft. or so from the car.

What I meant is that they don't put out the kind of light, or anywhere near the kind of light the headlights do. I only have a problem with how they look, when you are looking at the car. it just looks like the entire headlight is glowing!

Thanks. I need to revise that, because the ground point I show is not the best.

It's the design of the halos that cripples most setups:
The inner lamp will always get a direct shot from the bulb (H8). However, the outer projector will always be weaker due to the travel path needed in the fiber lines to illuminate the ring. This is why the outer rings are always dimmer than the inner. All the latest and greatest bulbs on the market will not correct this design, with exception of the HIDs - which seem to help a bit from the pictures previously posted. |

The longer I have my HIDs in the happier I am with them. The problem I have with the LED rings is you have to send you headlight assembly out and it gets taken apart. If the guy was local to me I might be more into it. But Camaross305's is really nice cause it's just plug and play. At first the brightness was almost a shock to me, but now I'm starting to really like it more. I was almost worried oncoming traffic wouldn't like it at night, but I guess since the light doesn't project forward like headlights it has not been a problem for other drivers.

I was also thinking about putting something around the bulb that would make them a bit less bright. my concern with doing this would be that if it emits less light into the inner ring, then it would probably light up the outer ring a lot less too. which again would bring us back to the problem of unbalanced light output.

I have them installed, but the rings in the driver's side are not as bright as the passenger side when the car is off, but when the car is on it's fine. It's a home made kit so don't expect much in term of quality.

Yea thats just the power supply..... check your grounds It also has do to with the way the HID bulbs heat up. When they first come on they need time to heat up.
