I'm assuming you are referring to the LeMans Blue 09 Vert at BMW of Sterling? I saw that last week. I have NO IDEA why it is still on their lot and hasn't been sold. It's got Bamboo leather which is a good combo for that color.

Have you spoken to a CA there to get their perspective on why it is still on the lot? I would think you could get a minimum of $10k off the price of the car...and I would push for more. At some point, the dealer will get to the point where they just need to clear the car off their lot. How many miles are on it? I've only gone there on Sunday when they are closed, so I've never really asked any specific questions about the car.

If it was me I would check the value of a comparable used 09 then add a bit. My logic is 5 mins after you own it you will have a used 09. If they will not give you a substainsial discount ($5-7k) I would order a new 2011 with the exact equipment you want. A sticker of $80 sounds like a conv with every option. BTW the idea of offering the used value has worked for me in the past. The dealer is paying interest on it every month probaby around 3% on 73K or $220 bucks a month. Lets see, if they have been doing that for 24 months that is close to $5300. Ask them if they want to do that for 24 more months or sell it to you today at your price. Just my opinion but hey, you asked for it. LOL Good luck!! PS. Book on aan 09 with 500 miles with all options is about $63,000.

As a reference, I know you can get $3000 of a new 2011. I just did it.

My 2011.5 vert 79,025 for 73,490 that's about $5500 off with no miles okay maybe 1 or2. I think you would be nuts not to order a 2011.5 and wait for it to come in. Does the 09 have any miles on it? Also as said above once you drive off lot you have a low mile 09 , I would no even think about it for no less then 15 k off closer to 20 off MSRP.

Yup it's at sterling.

I think I would get laughed at for asking 20k off. I think 15k they would consider and counter offer.

Thanks all wish me luck tomorrow.

Has the warranty started? Often times they will "punch them" to qualify for any factory incentives at the time. When they do that they start the warranty clock ticking. So it might have 1-2 years of warranty lapsed already. Given the insane lease residual and money factors offered by BMWFS right now on '11s I wouldn't touch this and just order a new one. You should be able to lease a FULLY loaded '11 convert for less than $900/month with 10k/annum for 36 months.

That is just more ammo to get them to lower the price dramatically. I dint mind it being an 09. Especially if I can get an 80k car for 65k.

Thanks for the warranty reminder.

I can tell you my sales person there just offered it to me for 69k

So I assume there is at least another 1-2k to be had.

I would go for a 2011.5 rates are awesome and car will be 3years old in a few months. Are you gonna lease or buy? If I can get almost 6 k off MSRP on an eleven and some people got even more. I don't think that 09 has no miles on it? I'm sure as they been trying to sell the car for 2 years people wanted to test drive it before buying it weather they were serious or not.

I bought an 09' Coupe in April, new. I paid $52,400 or $54,400 for it, can't remember exactly. Sticker was about $69k. So I would think $15k off sticker should be reasonable. And do make sure to ask about the warranty, they had started mine, as mentioned, something to do with incentives. So I ended up with a CPO, brand new, fairly loaded 09'.

I think I will if it's 15-20k off sticker.

Thanks everyone!

FYI this will be my 2nd m3. I had a new 05 e46 vert for 3 years.

I paid about the same price a little under a year ago for a used 09 vert that was loaded with under 2k miles. If the warranty has not started yet, it sounds like a pretty good deal. If they have already started warranty, then try to get the extended warranty for 7 years thrown in. Otherwise order a new one. There are some new features that start with the current production year for fully loaded units that would make it worthwhile.

Edit: Yes I realize new pricing vs used pricing, but a two year old car is still two model years old, which will have an impact on residual value.

Took the car for a drive.

Color is LMB
4100 miles

Demo car for the GM who was the only driver.

Offered 65k to see what they say.

Said I wanted warranty extended. BMW assist extended. Nav maps updated.

Management was in a meeting. CA will call me in a bit.

That car is a monster to drive!

I hope it works out for you! They also have a sweet '11 Coupe AW/FR ZCP for sale...MSRP of $74k or so.
