A surprise from Eisenmann!

Every once in a while, Eisenmann will suprise us on our annual visits with something truly out of the ordinary. Eisenmann's inconel system was just that kind of shock! By conquering the challenges of fabricating and welding this Inconel exhaust system for the E9x M3, Eisenmann has once again proved to me that they are among the top tier engineering and manufacturing firms in the exhaust business today. Of course, the weight of the system is pretty impressive.

In the interest of weight savings, Eisenmann opted to use a single wall, inconel tip with a laser cut Eisenmann logo instead of the standard Stainless Steel LeMans tip.

Look out for more photos of our annual Eisenmann tour this Friday!

That looks nice! It's a major blow to the happy customers who already have the heavy sport/race exhaust though.

I guess I didn't think of it that way. Like any company focused on quality, Eisenmann is always striving to improve their product line.

Is the Ferarri F430 a major blow to those who already own a Ferrari 360?

In any case, this exhaust system is simply a design study at present, and may or may not result in a production piece. As of now pricing, availability, etc is still up in the air.

The weight is what has been holding me back on the Eisenmann Sport. If this comes to fruition..I'll be giving you a call.

only heard of inconel used for exhaust manifolds on turbo cars to combat heat, not sure what's the purpose of inconel on a muffler, cool nonetheless.

ya, cant see the benefits of inco on the tail section of an exhaust. Its awesome for parts exposed to hi temps, but the tai section doesnt get hot enough to benefit from the use of this alloy. My company makes exhaust parts for jet engines outta this stuff. Its awesome to weld but tuff as $hit and not to mention pretty pricey. Any idea what alloy they are using, 625? 718?

If one wanted to make a lighter exhaust, you could simply use thinner walled SS tubing. In my opinion, they use way too heavy gauge tubing on these pieces, contributing to their weight.

If the system is priced around 6k, then it would be pretty competitive with the Akrapovic system. which one is better?
