Went into the dealer last night. The "deal" that we discussed (I didn't do any negotiating) was to roll my last 5 months payments on my 335 into the new M3 lease. This is not what I was hoping for. Why would I want to pay for a car that I wouldn't be using? They did indicate that there is a sweet spot at around 3 months out where there is more "flexibility". At this point I have no idea what that means. I'm getting the feeling that I need to just wait for the lease to be up and have a 2011 on order for delivery at my current lease end in August.

The savings is around 4% when you compare with Feb rates, and this is not taking into account the $2500 credit you get for a 2010 M3.
I believe you can easily obtain a <$1000/month payment if you do a 36month lease, 12000mi/yr and 7 MSDs... I say if a sedan is what you're looking for, then NOW would be a very good time for you to start e-mailing dealers for best deals. Coupe guys...the real decision is really LCI or no LCI.... |

Lease for under $1000
New here, but just wanted to chime in to say that I just signed a deal for a 2010 M3 Coupe lease for under $1000 today. It was the last M3 the dealer had. Fully optioned with MSRP right at $70K. He asked what payment I wanted to take the car and I said $900 per month, including tax. He came back with $4700 down and a payment of $900/ month.

Here's what I worked out: 71.5k MSRP E90 M3, Fully loaded minus Rear Parking Sensor and Shades. 3.5k off MSRP. 2.5k instant BMW credit. ---------------- 6k Total off sticker, which we can guestimate to be at/or $500 above invoice. For this dealer, which ranked Top 12 in the country, we were more than pleased with the offer. They would not go ANY lower after playing hard ball for a good 3 hours. Thought there was at least another $500 we could have knocked off, but this didn't make a big dif. in payment. We are already getting a prime rate due to flawless credit, so that was non-negotiable. We chose a 10k, 36mo. lease to help get the payment to ~950/mo. Now, about the 120-day deal, I found out much more information! At work now but will definitely explain everything when I'm home. Stay tuned. As of April 6th I will be the proud owner of a 2010 E90 Jet Black/Black M3. Word!

Congrats! How much did you put down if you dont mind me asking? And was that 3.5k additional off promotional or have you gotten another BMW with that dealer before?

Put down $0. Only what's due at signing. $3.5k was a loyalty promo in addition to the $2.5k BMW Spring promo.

OK. So I wanted to clarify exactly what this deal entails.
This deal should be offered directly through BMW Financial, so make sure to inquire about this at your local dealer. If you decide to turn your lease in early, BMW is offering a 120-day program in which you are able to review the payoff of your vehicle at its current state (current miles, current condition, etc). The key to this deal is minimizing the difference between the current (wholesale) value of your car and the payoff. The current value and payoff of your vehicle is officially released 120-days before lease end - not a day sooner. Up until this point you are only able to estimate what these two figures would be. The bottom line: You are not able to sign a new lease that is directly affected by this promotion before the 120-day period. BMW financial will not release these figures early, and your dealer can only predict a payment up until this point. Furthermore, the less your dealer owes as a payoff on your vehicle, the less it impacts your new monthly payment. This CAN (and is not guaranteed) to help the customer is a few ways. One would be if you are over the mileage on your lease (which I currently am). This additional cost is essentially rolled into the new lease payment at a discounted rate, which is $.15 versus the original $.20. Now, if you are UNDER your allocated lease mileage, this actually acts as a CREDIT to your new payment and will help to reduce it. Hopefully this makes sense. Secondly, if you want a new car NOW (ie - there is a 2010 M3 sitting on the lot and it is exactly what you wanted!) and don't want to deal with the remaining monthly payments, BMW gives you the option to turn the car in early and roll the remaining payments into the new lease. Simple enough, right? In summary, you are saving cash out of pocket by avoiding the payment of a) excess mileage, and b) the remaining monthly payments up front before lease signing. In my case, I am not eligible for this deal until April 6th. Therefore, I cut a check to BMW for my signing costs (first month's payment, etc) and had them hold the car until that date. The end.

As many here have pointed out, a sub-$1000/mo payment is possible, but it all depends on factors like your credit, how much you drive, what options you want, etc.
I priced out a 2010 E90 today with all option packages, DCT, and all the important a la carte options; total MSRP of $70,675. I offered $1000 over invoice knowing that with the $2500 customer cash offer going on I'd be paying $1500 under invoice. Some members will think I could have negotiated lower, but I believe in paying a fair price for a good product. Payment (not including sales tax) came to $1044/mo, and that is with a 36 mo lease and 15k miles/year allowance. $2300 due at signing. Peace, JB |

How MSD (multiple security deposit) work and how it helps to reduce monthly payment?
Thanks for input.

My Dad ended up loving my car so much he bought an Interlagos Blue E93 M3 on the spot! Pics will come as soon as I'm back at home from being out of state. As of right now the car will be waiting for me in the garage I'm a happy guy as the deal went through 100% today. We were having some issues but came out on top. Will post pics as soon as possible. ------- For those who haven't read my posts in other threads, the E90 Jet Black M3 is no more. Our "loyal" dealership in Plano, TX tried to sell my Dad, a long time BMW owner, a DAMAGED car. First off, we felt that we weren't getting the best possible price for the car - especially since we had just negotiated on an M3 2 days prior. So, we went into the negotiation process and still weren't able to hit our asking price. Went to another dealer, which happens to be the dealer we ended up switching to, and got a quote on the same car. We were informed that NOT ONLY were we not able to get to our asking price, but that the vehicle had been damaged in port. The entire front bumper was replaced, and the passenger side fender was repainted...Not once were we made aware of this. As you know, this is completely illegal and after this experience we won't be stepping foot in the sales department ever again. So, on to the exciting news... I solidified a deal today on a Jerez Black E92 M3! Ended up negotiating to about $500 under invoice. The car had 172 miles on it as it had been on the lot for about 3 months. MSRP of the car was roughly ~74k. We walked out the door paying about $68.3k - a 5.7k discount including thew $2500 BMW credit. VERY excited to drive this car. Dad picked up his E93 Interlagos Blue M3 today and says it's out of this world. He can't believe how responsive the car is. ITB's Will post pics and a vid as soon as humanly possible. I'll be home later this month. Thanks, guys.
