Locking lug nut?

I've neglected to notice prior to having tires changed, but I currently have black regular hex lug nuts on the car. Should there be locking lug nuts on the e92 M3 or did the installer swap on me?

You should be happy you don't have locking lugs! Nothing but a hassle if/when you lose the key. Do you see a lot of cars on blocks in your area? I don't think they are standard. My 2008 and 2013 did not come with them.

My area is safe (knock on wood). Again, perhaps this is how they came. I never noticed up until now. I've got the 19" forged double spoke wheel upgrade (2MT). Would still be interested in knowing if anyone else had lock lugs standard.

No, you pay a hefty premium for Locking Nuts. Plus the hassle is amazing if you lose a key.

Doubt they did anything since the M comes with bolts and not lug nuts. Not very likely the tire place had a set of locking ones lying around.

You don't need them. If a thief wants your wheels, he will get them. You can by a tool from sears that will remove every type of lock that I am aware of (besides one that won't work without studs).
