Question *Confirm >> General Vibrations with XPipes*

Hey guys I installed xpipes a month ago and it's been great!

There's general vibration transferred into the cabin of the car caused by the xpipes while cold

I can't imagine i'm the first to be hearing these noises after installing such a loud exhaust system. The sound is only present when the exhaust is cold.
Even if the car is warmed up if I park it for 10 minutes and come back for the first 2 minutes it'll rattle.

Once the car is completely warmed up it sounds perfect. Even stock the car sounds a bit raspy when it's cold so I know this is normal.

Has anyone with xpipes experienced these same problems?

Thanks

I didn't have the vibration at first but now I do, I've experienced it with other cars also, I wanna think it's just a loose bolt, I'm Gonna check it next time it's on a lift

Yes that happens to me with my Fabspeed X-Pipe setup combined with High Flow Cats 200 Cell, I took it to the dealer and to another shop, everything seemed to be fine. i think its just a thing you need to get used to. I know i did...I freaked out the first time i heard it i thought something was loose.

And yes i only hear that sound and feel the vibrations near the arm rest and the shifter when its either cold or when parked for a couple of minutes after it was warmed up. But its a hit and miss, i dont always get it.

I have the same problem with only Fabspeed X-Pipe and stock primary cat installed. There were no vibration sounds the first few months, but now I hear it during every cold start. It goes away after <1min. Not sure how to fix the problem.

anyone?

I have AA HFC and mine dont rattle in the interior. My installer was top notch and i was there when he was doing it. He took a mallet and hammered the heat shield flush to the the chassis with a mallet and you have to make sure when you tighten every thing down you do it evenly so it doesnt have much room to move or flex or rub anything.

Challenge Race + Dinan rear = no rattles. Very very slight vibration but I think the cause was something in the glove box. I did the install myself so I know everything was tight and spaced right.

Maybe colder climates could see different results.

I had a EI X-pipe (HFC) installed for a while. Removed it for the ECL I kept getting with 95 ROZ fuel here on base in England. But on the first install I noticed that on cold start ups, it had some rattle going on till it warmed up. I put it on the rack and just re-adjusted the pipes, clamps and had to tighten up the Remus Sport exhaust as one muffler started to come loose but was not the fault of the vibs on cold start up.

After i re-adjusted everything by loosening up all the clamps but not removing them, moved the pipes around till they felt adjusted right, then I torqued all the clamps/fittings back up. After that the cold-start rattle never manifested itself again. So it's probebly that one of the pipes are being pulled tight, as was my case, and a re-adjustment will most likely realign it all properly. Give it a shot, it'll probebly help if anything. Good luck.

I get vibrations from the Challenge race when it is cold. I have had it adjusted and it improves but it is never completely gone at start up. I have been told that there is a hanger missing that is there with the stock set up (or there should be one in a certain place) that would help with this.

its because the engine runs rough at cold start. i believe its a 'cat warm up' feature or something like that. a tune will eliminate the rough start, which should rid of the vibration

I did have this kind of vibrations in the car, especially in underground parking lot of my house when I had Akrapovic EVO on my E92 M3.

That was one other reason why I just took off the mid. section from the car and left with just slip-on.

Thank you for your completely irrelevant post, seeing as how this thread is about X pipes and the Gintani is a catback.
