Yeah, that's what I was saying.

I can't stand the stock configuration because of the fact that they're fake. Even though OP positioned his real tips in somewhat the same skewed fashion as stock, it looks great. Therefore, I think I'm more bothered by the stock ones because they're fake, as opposed to just their layout.

I got it. Even if the exhaust layout is not that good looking, though original, the fake tips on the stock car make it even worse. So Fapout's exhaust look rather good in comparision.

I already had the 335 which I gave to my wife, so I didn't feel like looking at the same interior every day. Not to mention, M3s are a dime a dozen where I live and honestly, you're the first person to ever make this statement so ummmm yeah. I'll sleep fine tonight.
sorry men i did'nt want to lite a fire i did'nt weight my words. It was'nt the best way to say it. Enjoy your car.

Why is everyone talking about "credibiity"?? If you like a car then buy it and drive it...who care's what anyone else thinks.

i love it! i bought an is250 awd as a daily commuter for the wife and i love how the front fenders flare out especially. the isf is a beautiful car with a very aggressive exhaust note. kind of unexpected coming from a car with a lexus badge...

nothing compared to yours, but here is a quick photo of mine

You make some outrageous comments.. I cant stand the reliability of BMW. Thats why I am jumping ship back to Lexus. I would take this over an M3 ANYDAY.

OP's real exhausts in the same configuration actually looks nice; I wonder how much of that sentiment is driven by the fact that they're real now...

Anyway, that's a sweet car. M3s are everywhere, I almost never see these things around.
I still find this conversation amusing. I'm not criticizing you for your opinion, just the fact that there are so many other cars with similar set ups that never even get commented on.

Murcielago takes no heat for the "fake" tip.

Ironically, our new 7 has the exact same set up and I have not heard one negative comment about the fake tips on a BMW.

Well, this is because the reason for fake tips would be purely "form" correct?

So what happens in the case of the IS-F where the implementation fails both in form and function? The Murci looks good and flows with the design. That is why it takes no heat. I'm not a fan of them in general, but they're alright (although somewhat annoying) in my book if they can at least not look like shit.

The center piece in your dining room table.... Purely useless. However, it makes sense to be there if it serves it's decorative purpose. The Murci has a good, normal, traditional makeup, say flowers or fruit or whatever else makes those things up. If you take the stock IS-F fake tips and translate that to a center piece, it would be your dog's diarrhea. That doesn't work very well.

With zero disrespect to Fapout intended, as I think his car is amazing, this car gives it a pretty good run and is widely considered the sickest car on the Lexus sites.

The Lexus set up was clearly explained as being functional in multiple discussions when it was launched. The way the rear end is arranged was set up to create additional downforce to help in handling. It absolutely has purpose according to the original designers.

Again...aside from the aesthetics (which are debatable)...how is this a discussion point?

The hypocrisy in stating that the Murci set up is ok because it looks better but has zero functionality simply doesn't work.

It is also interesting that the BMW set up has zero functionality and essentially looks no different than the IS F but isn't panned universally.

Yeah that's true, sorry about that, I did forget about the functionality part.

So you love fake exhaust tips, good for you. I generally don't. But I don't understand where the argument came from about BMW fake tips not getting heat from me. I'm not a fan of them either, and never once mentioned them in the first place.

Stock IS-F fake tips still look like shit to me though. Keep in mind that's just MHO, don't lose too much sleep over it, eh?
